--A public meeting at Madison, North Carolina, contributed the following articles to the Government:One thousand two hundred and thirty-six pounds bacon, twelve barrels corn, nearly eight barrels flour, clothing of different kinds to the value of four hundred dollars, and one thousand dollars in money, making the sum total in value to about sixteen thousand dollars, or an average of one hundred and six dollars to each person present.
