Robberies.
--Several robberies have been perpetrated upon our citizens during the past two or three nights. On Friday night the store of P. A. Woods, on Cary, opposite the foot of Eleventh st., was burglariously entered and robbed of over one thousand pounds of bacon. On Saturday night the dwelling of Wm. Rutheford, corner of Foushee and Grace sts., was broken into and robbed of three barrels of flour and a quantity of other provisions. On the same night the hat store of Major. John Dooley, on Eagle Square, Main st., was entered and robbed of a considerable number of hats and caps — the exact amount not known. The thieves effected an entrance by forcing open the front door. The premises of James Pitman Tyler, in the Northern part of the city, were also invaded on Saturday night, and robbed of a number of fowls.
