Revolt of a penitentiary convict.

--About 10 o'clock yesterday morning one of the prisoners employed in the shoe department of the penitentiary, named Kelley, attempted to murder Charles Morris, a cutter employed there. Kelley having some difficulty with Morris about his work, picked up a large billet of wood near at hand, and beat him till life was nearly extinct before he was interfered with by some of his fellow-convicts employed in the same room with him.
