Terrible Deprivations

--The Yankee papers publish a letter from a lady in Charleston to a friend in the North, of which the following extract shows the terrible suffering now prevailing among the patriotic women of that city:

‘ When I commenced this it was warm enough to sit up stairs with windows open. The next night water froze in my pantry, and under a comforter and three blankets I could not keep warm in bed. So much for the "Sunny South." You are either roasting or freezing all the time.

’ I could not accept your invitation to Thanksgiving. Our dinner was roast turkey, roast ducks, boiled ham, sweet potato pudding, and ground nuts. Where were the plum puddings, manciples, apples, oranges, dried fruits, &? Echo answers--where?
