The second class

have for several days past performed the services of regulars, and with as much zeal and fidelity as could be asked of any body of troops. As guards at the prisons, they have been energetic and faithful, and in all other duties imposed they have proved entirely efficient. When called upon by the authorities they were prompt to answer and ready to perform the duties assigned.
