Badly burned.

--Some few days since, a lad named Walter McDonald, son of Mr. John McDonald, corner of 25th and Broad streets, was dreadfully burned by the explosion of a quantity of loose powder, which he held in his hands. Walter and a number of companions were at play on the bill, drilling and blasting earth. Whilst Walter was in the act of setting off a blast, a coal of fire or spark accidentally fell into the powder which he held in his hands, and, exploding, burned his face, hands and arms in a frightful manner. This should be a warning to boys not to play with powder, and to parents not to allow their children to use so dangerous an agent.
