Sportsmen,

who can afford the luxury of powder and shot, are having an exciting time with their dogs and guns. Every field is made vocal by the whistle of the partridge, and each forest seems alive with turkeys and bares. Old hunters declare that they have never seen game as abundant as at the present time, and but for the scarcity and high price of shot the markets would be glutted with every variety.
