Assault.
--Patrick Marony was held to bail by the Mayor in the sum of $500 for his good behavior, on the charge of assaulting and choking T. B. Johnson in the street. Johnson and a friend were passing up 17th street, when the friend proposed a drink. Johnson declined the invitation, giving as a reason that there was the one other than low Irish houses in the neighborhood, and that he would not drink in one of them. Marony hearing the remark, rushed upon and choked him before he could draw his pistol and use it.
