--At the late session of the Confederate Court in Columbia, S. C., Lawson and King were capitally convicted of having in their possession counterfeit notes of the Confederacy, with intent to utter the same, and under sentence of death, to be hanged on the first Friday in August next. Another, named Chason, tried for misdemeanor, for having a $100 Confederate note in possession, filled up with names and numbers, was sentenced to six years at hard labor and a fine of $100.
