Charles Carroll Hicks.

--A New York letter in the Baltimore American, of the 3d inst., says:

Charles Carroll Hicks, who was arrested in this city about ten days ago charged with being a spy, but paroled, there not being sufficient evidence to hold him at the time, has been rearrested and is now in the custody of the War Department. The first thing he did after being released was to commit acts which were flagrantly treasonable. The probability is that Hicks the traitor, like Hicks the pirate, will meet with a sudden and coercive disposition at the hands of the proper authorities before the lapse of many weeks. It is reported that sufficient evidence against him has been procured to justify his being executed as a traitor and a spy.
