Mayor's Court.
--There were a number of petty cases adjudicated before this Court yesterday, an enumeration of which would neither be instructive nor amusing. James F Shabey, charged with defrauding James McNalty out of $100, by selling him a brass watch, pretending it was gold, was called up for an examination, which resulted in his discharge — the watch proving, on examination by an expert, to be a genuine gold watch, and very valuable.--Several soldiers, put in the cage for appearing at the Theatre drunk, on Monday night, and raising a disturbance, were let off.--Richard Morris, charged with stealing sundry articles of personal property belonging to Andrew J Myer, worth $945, had his case continued for another hearing.--Benjamin Williams, one of Major Griswold's Detectives, was summoned up to show cause why he should not be fined for firing a pistol cause why he should not be fined for firing a pistol in the street. His case was likewise continued.
