Warding off danger.
--The Council at its last meeting passed a resolution directing the city Engineer to have both sides of the canal at the spot where the 8th street bridge crosses it fenced in with a substantial railing, so as to prevent the unwary from walking into the canal and finding a watery grave, as several have done. The work has been finished, and now with the light afforded by the street lamp near by, which was ordered to be lit up every night regardless of the moon, all danger is avoided.
