"the feeling at the North."
Under this heading a paragraph has been going the rounds purporting to be from the pen of Rev. J. R. Graves, of Nashville, author of ‘"The Great Iron Wheel,"’ giving a description of the intense war feeling at the North. Mr. G. is not the author of the article, as we learn from a letter, though it was written by a Rev. Mr. Graves, a Presbyterian minister of the North Carolina Synod, who has returned from a visit of six weeks to the North, having succeeded in getting a passport from the authorities at Richmond to visit his relatives and friends there. What importance is to be attached to grave opinions, formed in so short a visit, we are not prepared to state, but as the supposition that these opinions were entertained by Rev. J. R. Graves gave them additional weight with the public, it is proper to place the authorship where it belongs.
