Fatal Accident.

--About one o'clock, yesterday afternoon, a soldier named James Cary, belonging to Company C, Wheat's battalion, jumped out of a third story window in rear of the Columbian Hotel, intending to alight upon an adjacent shed, but missed his object, and fell to the ground, a distance of about forty feet. From what could be ascertained relative to the affair, it seems that he had been engaged in a fight with some of his room mates, and in order to escape arrest by the police, who had been sent for, sought to make his exit from the hotel by the above-mentioned route. He was picked up in a dying condition and was taken to the Baskerville Hospital, on Cary street. He survived only about half an hour.
