Virginians in the battle of Shiloh,

New Hope, Va, May 28, 1862.
To the Editors of the Dispatch:
In a recent issue of your paper I notice the names of several Virginians mentioned as having participated in the great battle of Shiloh. I wish to add another. I refer to Gustavus Credson. He is a native of Albemarle county, but removed several years ago with his parents to Shelby county, Tennessee, where he has been since living. He is not yet eighteen years of age and joined the army soon after the commencement of hostilities; thus furnishing another of the numberless illustrations of the unyielding determination of the Southern people of all classes to drive back the invaders or perish in the attempt.
