Gen. Cabell.
--A volunteer company recently organized in Danville, has been named the ‘"Cabell Guards,"’ as a testimonial of respect for Gen. B. W. S. Cabell, of Pittsylvania co., Va. In a letter acknowledging the compliment, he says:‘ Never since the creation of the world did men go forth to battle in a cause which combined so many, and such high and holy, and sacred obligations, to nerve the arms and to animate the hearts of men to heroic deeds, as now address themselves to the soldiers of the Confederate States. "The Sons of Liberty," go forth to fight for then mothers, wives, daughters, for their native land, for all that is most endearing in the name of country, the sacred name of home! Animated by these considerations, let the motto of the "Cabell Guards" be:--Victory or death !.
