President Buchanan.

--The appearance of President Buchanan on the Avenue on Friday last — the first time since his message was promulgated — created quite a sensation. The great thoroughfare was filled with ladies and gentlemen, the afternoon being pleasant and the weather inspiring. The President, of course, was the "observed of all observers, " the crowd making a clear passage for him on his perambulation up and down. The President is not in jocund spirits. His perturbed spirit is visible in every lineament.
