--At St. Peter's Cathedral this morning, a grand "Pontifical Solemn High Mass," composed by
Prof. C. T. De Cœniel, of this city, will be performed for the first time.
Accomplished judges, who have heard the work, say it is fully worthy of the grand music which characterizes all the masses of the
Church.
In addition to the excellent voices composing the choir, there will be a full orchestra, and those who love music, that most refining of influences, which appeals so directly to the better feelings of our nature, will find that a visit to the
Cathedral this morning will repay them.
