Yankee grain Improves in Southern soil.
The Columbus (Texas) Planter says:‘ Some of our planters have been somewhat alarmed at the precocity of their corn, tasseling at three feet high. A correspondent of the Bastrop Advertiser says he has tried it, and finds that it does tolerably well the first year, better the second, and finely the third. He calls it Abolition corn, and says it is very natural that it should improve the longer it stays on Southern soil.
