Appointments, Removals, &c.
--The Washington papers contain the following:Dr. Sidney, late of Miss., has been promoted from a temporary clerkship in the Post-Office Department to a 3rd class permanent clerkship there, ($1,000 per annum.) Mr. H. L. Recker, of Ky., has been appointed to a $1,200 per annum clerkship in the same Department, Mr. James M. Blanchard, of Indiana, has been appointed to be an Assistant Examiner in the Patent Office, $1,200 per annum; and Mr. Clifford Arick, of O., has been appointed to a Junior Assistant Examiner's position in the same office. Mr. Wm. O. Stoddard, of III., has been appointed Secretary to the President to sign land patents, ($1,000 per annum,) vice Mr. J. A. B. Leonard, of Md., removed. Mr. Geo. W. Kellogg, of Mich., has been appointed to a $1,200 per annum clerkship in the Pension Bureau.
