Sent on for forgery.

-- Jas. E. Carter was brought before the Mayor yesterday, charged with passing a forged check for $13 on Moses Endol, and, obtaining money and goods there on, and also, for passing on Wm. Smith, clerk for Hill & Co., cordwainers, of this city, a draft for a pair of boots, purporting to be signed by Lawrence S. Marye. The testimony being deemed sufficient, the Mayor sent the prisoner to jail to undergo an examination for felony before the Hustings Court, which sits on the 2nd Monday in April.
