We walked round the Park to the famous palace which Gustavus 3d commenced building after his return from Italy.
Here he expended two millions, & the foundations were but laid & the stones in readiness for the walls when he was assassinated.

We saw the model of this building which was to have been a very extensive one.
A row of columns all around it, to have been built in the Italian style.
The model was more like a temple than a palace.
We took tea at a little inn in Hagalund & returned home late in the evening—The king has a great number of palaces round Stockholm, there are seven or eight, & as many it is said in every province.
