Jones, William -1831

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1760; served throughout the Revolutionary War, at first in the army and later in the navy; elected to Congress in 1801; appointed Secretary of the Navy in 1813. He died in Bethlehem, Pa., Sept. 5, 1831.
