Kenny Rogers has something new up its sleeves and it's bound to be awesome.
Hello, Kenny Rogers Roasters.
Known for its bang for the buck meals, Kenny Rogers has been one of my favorite places to get my chicken fix. And when I got invited to the media preview of Kenny Rogers' short film featuring Solz and Bolz, I said yes in a heartbeat. I figured that it would be a funny film starring Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico given that they are the current ambassadors of the famous roast chicken chain.

Gone Too Soon: Poulet Manille
The
deep blue interiors of this organic chicken place caught my interest when it
opened in SM Aura. But I hardly see diners whenever I pass by the place. It
made me think if the food’s not worth it. It could be either mediocre or
expensive food. But after reading a few reviews and seeing the menu, I felt
that I have to visit this place. Truffle chicken at less than PHP500 with 4
side dishes? Not bad at all.
Hello,
Poulet Manille.
We
got to the place around 6:30 pm and the place was empty as usual. We sat down
and ordered Poulet’s Truffle Chicken
(PHP498, half | PHP798, whole) with Fragrant
Jasmine Rice and Creamy MashedPotatoes for sides, Cream of Wild
Spinach as additional side dish, Norwegian
King Salmon (PHP690) and Watermelon
Ginger (PHP125).
No, you are not counting wrong. They lessened the sides per order (from four to two for a half order) and made the price steeper. (Insert frowning face here.)

Service
was quick though and after a couple of minutes, my mom’s Watermelon Ginger was
served.
It
had a refreshing and slightly sweet taste of watermelon. The bits of ginger
made it even more interesting and in a way, rejuvenating.
The
mains were served soon after.
The
Norwegian salmon was delectable. By just looking at it, you could tell that it
is a good dish. It was soft and juicy with the outer part
having a light crunch. It was on the salty side but it was well complemented by
the spinach and lemon risotto. It had that nice tangy flavor that is best
paired with seafood like salmon.

Second Bite: Early Bird Breakfast Club
I love breakfast
food. Sunnyside
up eggs, waffles,
bacon,
toasts…
aaaah~<3 This is why I enjoy visiting breakfast
all day restaurants.
Hello again, Early
Bird Breakfast Club!
It has been quite a long while since I
last visited this place. I recall my former colleague T was still new with Summit Media when we visited this quaint
restaurant. Early Bird stays the same, charming
and homey.
This time around, I tried one of its
newest dishes, Cod and Salmon
Breakfast Pie
(PHP325) with a glass of iced tea (PHP95).
It took a bit over 20 minutes before
my food was served.

Kapitolyo Food Stop: Tomahawk Chops & Grill
Finally stuffed and happy, the F3 moved
to the next destination with our new friends, Triple Js. While still at
Silantro, we decided on where we should go next and we all decided to give
Tomahawk Chops & Grill a try.
Hello, Tomahawk Chops & Grill!
When we arrived, all the long tables
were occupied and the available tables (which were too small for a party of
six) were spread out. The server then suggested that we go to the second floor.
Second floor?! We were all surprised that there is a second floor. We all had
an impression that it’s a very small restaurant.
The second floor is adorable. There are
giant letters that spell EAT and CHOPS. The walls are also adorned with frames.
After a short while, we decided to go
for the Grilled Tomahawk Chops (PHP295) and Grilled Baby Back Ribs (PHP425).
For our sides, we went with mashed potatoes and string beans. I also ordered a
glass of the Premium Iced Tea (PHP60/glass).

Restaurant Discovery: Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant
Germany has been known
for its great beer and sausages and when a German-inspired restaurant opened
near my place, I just have to try it myself. It’s the closest I could be with
Germany, for now. *winks in an ugly way*
Brotzeit is a German Bier Bar & Restaurant which oddly started in Singapore. But they ensure that they offer authentic Bavarian cuisine. According to their site, “brot” means bread while “zeit” means time referring to a leisure meal accompanied by beer.
The place is indeed cozy and it has a masculine feel to it—perhaps because of the brown tones.
N (girl) and I are not beer people so we opted not to order any though I was tempted to try. Then again, I remembered the existing bet I have with N (boy) and I just have to win.
