I have 3 jean jackets I have had almost all of them since I was 14 years old. That is a while for a jacket I have almost had them twice as long as I have not (OK not trying to give my age away all the way). So they have all started to get let say worn out which is a major understatement. I wish I had taken a photo before I cut out the backs yoke piece. So I did the nexted best thing I set the piece back on the hole I had made but you can see the crochet peeking through the hole area.

15 years ago he had a dream to open up a 501(c)3 non-profit museum all about movable print and where it came from and where it has gone in history. Located at 275 East Center Street in Provo , Utah 84606 in a very small little building that can easily be missed when driving past in this building his dreams came to life. This modest little building houses some amazing items in printmaking history. Movable type has changed the way the human race has looked at the world and interacted with it.

Next leap 2011 the internet has concurred the world and people carry around digital books the text and touch and feel of a book are fading away from us. As a bookbinder and printer that is a hard thing for me to grasp I so love reading a book and gaining knowledge from it most hings I do I have done becasue of books and being able to sit and teach myself. I love books old and new there is something about them that draws me to them. The economy is languishing and many museums are closing their doors and not for the weekend but permanently to never come back. There is a legacy to be had in our history and what got us here as a world the printing press has changed the face of this earth. It has helped create nations and it has set people free spiritually progress has moved forward becasue of type. Please help this museum stay to give a great legacy in our children yet to be born.
If you have been there and know the value of this museum and what it stands for or if you feel touch by my notes here call, stop by, donate anything to help and do it fast or they will close their doors and you may never be able to see the wonders of this museum. It is truly a one of a kind place.
If you are interested in looking at their web site go to Crandallmuseum.org (they have a donation link in place on there but are having technical difficulties with it and paypal). If you choose to donate to them you can mail them money ( if you do make it rush so they get it in time to save the museum)or call and use a credit card or stop by and give it in person and enjoy the museum too. They are working today to get the credit card/paypal thing fixed on their web site but have been told it may take a few weeks to get that all fixed.
Here is their contact information once again

A little tricky at first...
The bonnet takes a little getting use to since I don't use European crochet terms all the time. But once I got use to it, it flowed pretty quick. If you do get the pattern I recommend looking at the picture a lot to figure out a few of the concepts. Like I said this is written the old way you have to know a little to get it to work. In the process of doing this I am changing the way it climbs out of each round as there are more modern techniques that are cleaner to look at but if you want to to old do it as the pattern reads either way is pretty.
Baby Bonnet Pattern Antique
Here is a $1.50 pattern for you to purchase if you like baby bonnets. I don't care if you sell items from this just do not sell the pattern please just link people back to here thanks . Just thought it would be fun for people to use. Now it is in old terms and you do have to know about crochet and traveling from one level to another but with practice I think you can get it just fine. You will need to download it from Ravelry. Please let me know if that link works ( the buy now at the bottom of this post) I think it is my first time I am trying that maybe not can't remember if I did that on the caplet or the orange shirt. The pattern is circa 1862 just a little after it as it has reference in the leaflet to the London exhibit ( i.e. world fair) The authoress of this pattern is also from London ( Cloudesley Square to be exact) so these are in European terms of crochet.

Antique & Vintage Collars and other lace
I have a small collection of antique and vintage collars this is about half of them. I will probably never wear any of them some I plan to make replicas of so I can use those and not damage the originals. The ones in this collection in time I hope to get framed archivally and hang on them on the wall. This collection covers a great many years from the late 1800's to around 1950. Some are hand made lace and some have machine lace some are eyelet. I like them all they have such a variety of styles included in these from under-clothing yokes to collars to dress up a suit or sweater. I have another box of these but it is stored already. In that other box are some dickies too. Oh and the dark burgundy dress form you see I got at the quilt guild yard sale yesterday it fits my size just right. I will post more about quilt guild later. All that is missing is the chalk hem attachment and that is easily fixed. The best part was it was only $20.00. I know it isn't the best dress form but it is my size where as the other two that I own aren't and they are just used for display purposes for my blog. This new one is functional for making me things to wear so that rocks.

other items in this box

This one below could have been a doiley edging but I think it could have been a simple collar too either would work.

other items in this box
I think it use to be a doily or pillow edging but would make a lovely collar. The reason I think it use to be either a doily or pillow is because where the fabric use to be attached if it was a dressing gown it would be on the points not the header side of the lace.

I think it use to be a doily or small table cloth edging but would make a lovely collar for a drop waist open back night gown.
