Natural And Glamorous with W7*

Hey beauties! Now I know it has been such a long time since I last did a collective set of products or a review; Life has been pretty wild with launching my online store and recent events so it feels like my poor little blog has not had the attention it deserves.. But not to fear! I'm back with lots of new posts which I'm excited to share with you all.

So some of you may or may not know that I'm obsessed with high-street make-up from drugstores or places such as TopShop etc, It's always fun to go on the hunt for a good bargain that not only is value for money but it does the job good!

W7 has been one of those brands that has never failed to amaze me, they are always in the current trends, and bringing out ranges each season. I'm delighted to share with you some of their newest products since winter, with my own personal thoughts on them.

Products:
W7 Nail Varnish - 140 Buff
W7 3D Glitter Kiss Lipstick - Star Burst
W7 In The Buff Eyeshadow Palette - 12 Eyeshadows
W7 City slicker Eye Makeup Remover
W7 Souffle Mascara - Blackest Black

All comments and opinions are 100% my own and I've not been paid to say them.

----------------------------------------------

W7 Nail Varnish 15ml - 140 Buff test and thoughts

  • Sophisticated and classy colour a beautiful chocolate shade.
  • Applies well to the nail; even one coat is full coverage!
  • Dries with a glossy shine, but for better wear and protection of the colour a topcoat would be advised.
  • Lasted up to 4 days of wear until I noticed chipping/peeling, which to me isn't bad considering the price of the product and how often I paint my nails anyway!
  • A great go-to shade if you want a polish that can compliment most outfits.
  • Perfect for a shade that isn't too obvious but subtle and nude.

----------------------------------------------

W7 3D Glitter Kiss Lipstick - Star Burst test and thoughts

  • Beautiful variety of shades from the 3D glitter kiss collection, a lipstick with soft shimmer particles for a plump glitter effect.
  • I adored the mirror packaging, and the section underneath the lipstick which gives you a glimpse of the product itself is always handy to see the shade before you buy.
  • The lipstick texture when applied on the skin did have me concerned at first due to it being such a glittery product, sometimes shimmer/glitter can be too rough or harsh but due to these particles, but being so fine it glided on a treat.
  • This lipstick was also quite moisturizing, not matte at all; it was a subtle combination of the actual lipstick and shimmer for the overall glossy effect.
  • A great shade to wear for a party or event and within the right lighting the shimmer would be noticeable.
  • The lipstick has a soft scent to it, which I must say I find an added plus to a lip product!

----------------------------------------------

W7 In The Buff Eyeshadow Palette - 12 Eyeshadows test and thoughts

  • 12 eyeshadow tones which are all nude that can be used to create a natural day to day look, or a smokey eyed evening/event look.
  • Contents are securely packed within a tin case just like the Naked's 2 & 3 by UD, with an eye shadow double ended synthetic brush/shadow sponge brush included.
  • Has been classed as the dupe for UrbanDecay's naked palette 2! W7 of course is a lot cheaper. The pigmentation is divine especially when used wet.
  • There are more shimmers than matte shades which is a shame, I'm looking forward to seeing a complete matte palette from W7 though, fingers crossed there will be one!
  • The textures I noticed were soft although this did occur some fall out a simple sweep of my powder brush simply removed it. They blended very well too especially the matte shades.
  • Each shade is very wearable with a warm tone to them with a few cooler toned shades added in.

----------------------------------------------

W7 City slicker Eye Makeup Remover test and thoughts

  • I love the fact that the bottle is see-through so you can see the awesome effect of this bi-phased oil formula.
  • A light consistency that not only removes make-up but moisturized the skin too.
  • Fully absorbs into the skin not leaving any residue.
  • Removes tough make-up even waterproof mascara!

----------------------------------------------

W7 Souffle Mascara - Blackest Black test and thoughts

  • The mascara consistency is light and whipped, yet also very pigmented.
  • The brush is a thick shape which helps give the lashes volume and fuller coverage from root to tip, when applied in a zig zag motion.
  • I only applied one coat, seeing as the brush was that thick yet I did notice how it curved my lashes with a wide eyed effect. To make it more dramatic I would recommend two coats and application to the lower lashes also.

----------------------------------------------

Are there any of the above products you feel like purchasing? What are your thoughts I'd love to know! Post your comments in the comments section and I'll reply to them!

Professional Palettes and Make-up Essentials with BeautyEasier.com*

BeautyEasier is a company which has been providing beauty products since 2008 and are constantly updating and bringing new knowledge for their customers experience.
All the products they carry are produced cruelty free and no animals are harmed. Even though some companies still test on animals, they do believe that it is unnecessary, unethical and is scientifically unreliable. As they want to be sure that their products are safe on humans, their products are rigorously assessed and tested by human volunteers.

BeautyEasier.com kindly sent me some of their products to review for my readers, all comments and opinions are 100% my own and I've not been paid to do so.

Products I will be reviewing - 28 colour shimmer make-up palette (smoky-eyes), 10 colour blush palette, Manly 64 colour eye-shadow palette and SixPlus Flat Top Synthetic Foundation brush

----------------------------------------------------

The 28 Colour Shimmer Make-up Palette for Smoky-Eyes

I was extremely excited on this palette's arrival, Mainly because I'm passionate on creating the famous smoky-eye look. My first thoughts were how reasonable the pan sizes were, for using this in a professional manner there is a well made layout of eye-shadows that vary in shades.
The palette was easy to open with a clear cover slip on top of the eye-shadows which helps protect but also keeps them hygienic when working on sets. The case itself is a firm sleek design which is easier to store and travel with; although there is no mirror inside this wasn't an issue for me personally and with the way I'd use the palette.
For 28 shades there is something for multiple looks that can be created, the way I'd use this palette for a smoky eyed look would be placing a darker shade on the outer corners, creating a slight winged v-like shape and blending it into the crease to then use a medium shade close to that colour for the middle of the eyelid blending it softly out. The shades provided can be both for an intensified or subtle look and are all a shimmer base finish. These shadows are highly pigmented and reasonably priced which includes Free shipping! A perfect palette for any make-up artists kit.

-----------------------------------------------------

10 Colour Blush Palette

Now this is a palette I've not had before, so to have the opportunity to review it I was over the moon! This is a 10 pan blush set which as you can see has an array of shades for every skin tone. From soft pastel pink to a pinch cheeked colour these matte blushes are perfect for both professional and day to day use. In single use the shades are an opaque full coverage, but with the texture being so soft they're much easy to blend to the desired consistency. Another thing which I loved about this palette was that you can use the darker shades for contouring! I'm very impressed with the quality of the product and is perfect for a make-up kit when you want to try both highlight and contoured looks.

-----------------------------------------------------

Manly 64 Eye Shadow Palette

Now this set is much smaller in size to the other palettes I would suggest it's easier for travelling with, with a total of 64 colours this is nicely layered within the palette. I was more surprised though of how small the single colour sizes were, at 1.6cm diameter it can be much easier to result any product fall out to mix with another; This would be my only fault with the product. As for the choice of colours, there really is every shade to create either a bright colourful look to a dark intense look the shadows also have a slight shimmer to them, some more than others, which should be noted but with a silky texture and wonderfully pigmented. The case itself is perfect for the products to slot into with a glossy finish its easier to keep clean!

---------------------------------------------------------

SixPlus Flat Top Synthetic Foundation brush

Last but not least is the SixPlus range that produce professional make-up brushes, This one I was sent is their Flat top foundation brush. This has a strong aluminium handle and synthetic hair which is so soft to the touch, it's perfect for a flawless finish. I used this brush within my normal make-up routine, even though it stated that it works best with mineral foundation I was tempted to give it a whirl with my Benefit Oxygen Wow liquid foundation. Only using a small amount I worked it into my skin, using the brush in a circular motion as it blended thoroughly. I can not explain how soft this brush is! It was an airbrush finish over all and worked perfectly even on the driest patches on my face. I'm very interested to see how the rest of their brushes are but this is perfect if you have sensitive skin or using a much lighter liquid foundation or powder/mineral.

*NEW* Feature Friday - The Vintage Pamperbox 17th of May

New Feature Friday!
Featuring The Vintage Pamperbox

Horraaah It's finally Friday and you know what that means here on UniqueLoveStyle...Feature Friday time! This week's Feature is on the glamorous and oh so vintage company, The Vintage Pamperbox. I came across this business by actually looking at one of the team's blogs! Pin-up and anything vintage always inspires me, so to read her blog, that I must say is fabulous, to then hear about her involvement of The Vintage Pamperbox I was overjoyed to Feature them here for you!

The Vintage Pamperbox provides wonderful vintage events, whether it's for a birthday, Hen party or just a treat for yourself and your friends! The location can be from a choice of their regular venues or they can even provide the experience all the way to your home with their portable beauty parlour. With packages to choose from they can cover eras of the 20s through to the 80s, doing both make-up and hair by adding that extra glamour factor, perfect for a bride to be with their wedding services available too.

---------------------------------------------------

Interview with Betty Pamper l Make-up Artist The Vintage Pamperbox

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
Ultimately I have always aimed to combine a practical full time job with a creative venture. I think the inspiration for this was probably my mum and step dad when I was growing up. My mum was a fashion designer and my stepdad was a well known fantasy artist so the blueprint for making a living from being creative was set early on.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love that I get to work with my best friend Lilly and my husband Nick. I also really enjoy meeting so many different women from all different walks of like. The universal language of glamour means we always have lots to talk about and making women feel amazing about themselves is incredibly rewarding.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
My personal proudest moment was having my little girl. on a professional level seeing my first book in Waterstones takes some beating.I always feel very proud when we see women's confidence grow in front of our eyes as we transform them.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
I would love to see the Vintage Pamperbox thrive and my work as a writer and blogger continue to attract readers.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
I think you do need the building blocks of make up artistry even if you intend to only do "vintage inspired" styling so attending a make up course is essential. Then try and shadow as many professional make up artists as you can. You will learn so much about client facing skills and working within peoples personal space. Finally always be professional, happy and on time.

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
My favourite package which we are offering at the Vintage Pamperbox is probably our heroes vs villains event. Who doesn't want to dress up as wonder woman?

Nottingham BBlogger Meet-up and Haul!

(Big Thankyou to Sophia aka TattooedTeaLady for allowing me to include this picture from her blog!)

So as a lot of you may have heard, Saturday the 13th of April was the big #NottsBBMeet! I had never been so nervous! A lot of the bloggers were travelling from all over just to be there, luckily I got myself ready in time to get the bus there which only took around an hour. Our meeting point was at the statue lions at 11am where we were all given our name tags which included our blog link's and Twitter names. Over time the group began to build as everyone got there, I was so shy but the lovely Laura from http://laura-k.co.uk/ Arrived and straight away we spoke and had an instant connection! She is such a wonderful person and I'm so pleased to have met her! She did help me spend my money too! Hehe!

So from the meeting at the lions, the groups who were going to the Kiehls visits were notified on their times and from this both myself, Laura, Vanessa and Meimei began our shopping! It was all very surreal for me even at this point, after some time we then met up with everyone again and did a little about me circle, where each of us said who we are and what our blog's were. This was the point that I finally met the awesome Sophia and Jessie I must say it was a proud moment to meet them both.

Throughout the day there were 4 groups who went to the amazing Kiehls store where they had a champagne breakfast, yes I was stood at the window like a puppy swooning over the cupcakes...But it seemed everyone had a great experience and bought some great products that I will be looking out for on their blogs!

We all started to head up towards the Victoria Centre which had shops such as Lush, Boots, House of Fraser, Topshop etc. I then met the sweet Sarah from http://entirely-sarah.blogspot.co.uk/ was such a nice pleasure to meet her and also we didn't realise how local we were to one another! Such a small world huh! We went into Lush where although they had a fault with their lighting they did brilliantly with having all us bloggers coming in at once! So a big thank you to them :D
During the point where we all came outside I was so pleased to finally meet the Pampered Prince! He was such a sweetheart :)
Overall I felt like i'd shopped till i dropped but it was all so worth it! For my first ever meet-up it was the most greatest experience I have ever had; and for this I want to say an extra special thank you to Sophia and the girls for organising the wonderful day, It was a fabulous turn out and was nice to meet the bloggers in person! I shall definitely be attending more meet-ups in the future!

----------------------------------------------------------

Now on to the haul and what I purchased at the Meet-up!

Some of my purchases had been from what I had previously placed on my wishlist, where as others were just what stood out to me on the day!

My first purchases was of course at MAC! I did go in hoping they had some of the Betty Archie's girl's items left but they didn't *sad face* But I didn't leave there empty handed; I purchased the Matte Candy Yum-Yum lipstick as you can tell its a very bold and bright Pink! I've heard so much about this lipstick and because I love wearing bold statement colours I couldn't help but buy it! It's such a beauty!
Also purchased a lustre lipstick in the shade LoveLorn, It's a much softer pink shade with a nice glossy shine which feels very moisturising on the lips and will be a perfect shade for summer and every day looks.

During our visit in John Lewis, I still had some Christmas vouchers which I hadn't used up and thought this would be the perfect time to use them! I came across the mini o.p.i set of the OZ the great and powerful varnishes that I've seen many times and thought it would be perfect as I'm such a lover of nail varnishes and The wizard of OZ! I then rushed over to the Liz Earle stand,  I've only had one product of Liz Earle and because I've enjoyed using it so much, I treated myself to the Cleanse and polish starter set, which was a good price for the cleaner and 2 pure muslin cloths. Looking forward to using it as I've heard and read many good reviews on this product!

Next stop was boots! It's so big at Nottingham and there were a few things on my wishlist that I could have bought, but overall the Nicki Minaj fragrance, Pink Friday was my most lusted after item. I purchased the 50ml which comes fully with the head etc I love the bottle so much and will be great for displaying even after use! Also for buying this size I got a free Pink Friday limited edition bag and of course with it being pink I was too excited and thought it was a fantastic purchase.

Our last visit before heading home was House of Fraser, by this point we were all so tired and feet were aching but I made my last purchase for the last Urban Decay Glinda Palette on display. Most eye-shadow palettes that I have are the basic neutrals so when seeing these shades and knowing how pigmented and fantastic quality Urban Decay always has, I couldn't resist, and of course Laura kept saying 'buy it buy it!' and I did hehe. But this was another product that I have been wanting for so long I was pleased to finally have it!

-------------------------------------------------------

Overall the meet-up was a huge success! I heard also that we were trending too on twitter which is awesome to hear. I've loved meeting new faces and getting to know each other more; lets hope we have more meet-ups in the future! Big thanks again to Sophia and the girls for making this day possible :)
