Online insurance application

The online application was very simple, easy to use and understand! It only took about 5 minutes to complete. The app is also simple to understand and use. Highly recommended!

Home and contents insurance

Admiral eventually sorted out my home and contents insurance. It took several attempts with different agents. Every time one communicates with a different agent, even after being transferred on the same call, the same information is requested resulting in repeating the data every time, which became monotonous and frustrating!!
The final agent was helpful and promised to contact me on another day to confirm the details. He kept his promise and phoned me on the appointed day. This is not my experience with other companies. So well done Admiral.

Impossible to register or even speak with someone

I’ve recently bought a car insurance policy however it’s been impossible to register my policy. The password I choose meets all the criteria however it keeps coming back as ‘not meeting criteria’ tried on multiple devices. I tried an online chat and received an email saying that the issue has been resolved when it has not. I’ve tried calling the number but it keeps hanging up before I can get through to anyone. They have not even sent me a paper policy so I have no way of proving I have insurance. Terrible customer service. Avoid

Total rip off company

Total rip off company, never received renewal price, had to phone them, offered a price slightly more than the previous year then added a SP50 endorsement price on one car went up 35% and 76% on the other doubling the price. Made a complaint to them never got an answer went to the ombudsman who they can not supply the phone call recording of the price they first quoted. Been with them 9 years two cars and house covered, never claimed, I will pay this years out but once up for renewal I am gone. Please don't give me the claptrap about the cost of repairs, as you never gave us a refund during covid when claims were low.

Don't always just remew

TBH I would have used my previous co however you took them over and I am very happy you did same cover with a co I know as I have my car insurance with you and it was a lot cheaper

Great deal overall for my car but must admit that using the online chat was too long over 1.5hrs. But agent was superb and i am confident with cover sold.

Quick and easy to get quotation

It was easy and reasonably quick to work through the questions and answers and get a quotation.
I decided to proceed and purchase the insurance (car insurance), that was easy also.

I got my insurance renewal price

I got my insurance renewal price, and it was not competitive compared to other companies. I tried to cancel on the website, and it didn't work, so they made me call and do it over the phone, at which point they started to try to offer me a better deal. Of course, I didn't take this because you should have offered this in the first place! You lost two policies and a customer you had for two years.

The system generates renewal documents 21 days before your renewal date to give you a chance to shop around and to contact us to discuss the renewal price. This process ensures you are receiving the best price, that suits your needs and budget.
There are over 40 different rating factors that are compared to our claims statistics when calculating your renewal price. We have noticed price increases this year due to elements such as shortage of parts, cost of paint and shortage of skilled labour in the industry. These are all having a negative impact on the cost and time of repairs. I appreciate that you have not made a claim and it is nothing personal to yourself.

Made a stressful situation feel more stressful.

An added driver on my policy got into an accident in my car and they deemed it a total loss (without sending anyone out to assess) This was my first year with admiral and i couldn’t have imagined a worse experience. Every time I had to call up I was told different things, and a settlement felt as though it was forced onto me. On top of that, as part of my policy I should’ve been offered a courtesy car- nothing was mentioned and my policy was cancelled without notifying me and without any mention of one.

Changinour home insurance to Admiral couldn't of been easier…

Our current home insurance company informed us that they were ending home insurance, not just our's everyones, when we started looking at like for like cover we were surprised how competitive Admiral was, in fact we saved money on our annual bill. We also was able to speak to one of Admirals specialist team who talked us through the entire process, we are very happy with our new home insurance with Admiral.

Admiral Travel Insurance

We purchased a travel insurance policy through Admiral for our summer holiday to Greece.
The trip was unfortunately cancelled due to cancer diagnosis shortly before we were due to travel. The villa company refused refund ( Then subsequently let the villa for the same period). We registered a claim through our travel insurance for around £1700 to cover villa and car hire.
I've just been told that Admiral will only pay-out £800 for that claim after jumping through many hoops and dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Our GP mentioned he had never seen such a lengthily pointless medical questionaire.
We have been charged £400 excess when we were expecting £100. Admirals reasoning behind this is that there were 4 travellers, wife, myself and 2 young children.
It was a far simpler and compassionate experience dealing with the refund from Easy Jet.
Look elsewhere for travel insurance. I'll be moving the insurance of both my vehicles elsewhere after this experience.

I had a

I had a! 1hour and 20 minute conversation on the web chat.
It was slow, confusing and just as I thought we were nearly at the end of completing the contracted a new member of the team took over and wanted to start again.

Arron who I spoke to on the phone was amazing. I was in tears with frustration by the time I got through on the phone. He was calm, patient and clear.
Unfortunately my phone died, he went out of his way to try and call back and then the office closed.
Unfortunately he wasn’t available the next day when I called back but the 2nd sales assistant was equally great

Poor service for pet insurance claim

Our 2 cats have been insured with Admiral since 2017, with no claims made until now. At time of writing this review it's been 6 weeks since we started the claim and 4 weeks since supplying extra requested information - 6 weeks and still no conclusion. When we've chased Admiral for an update some messages have been ignored, and the reply 2 weeks ago stated the claim is STILL under review and Admiral are very busy at the moment.
You take out insurance hoping not to need it, but when you do have to pay to care for your pet you hope the insurance company will be quick to help/reply - this is not the case with Admiral and we cannot recommend their pet insurance
