Overdraft charge

As a small business with limited time to deal with day to day banking activity, we accidentally went into a small overdraft.

Our bank manager immediately agreed to refund the automated charge as it was clearly an oversight on our part.

Refreshing to see some common sense and a personal touch!

Brilliant Customer Service !

As an authorised signatory, I've had huge problems trying to authorise a payment on our account. This was due to the convoluted process of switching between being online and the token, coupled with poor eyesight and hearing! Full marks to Annila for patiently talking me through the process and setting me up with the relevant App. Well done, Annila, and thanks a million!

Poor efficiency and lack of basic awareness

My partner has had an account with coop for three weeks, due to the incentives they offer. My partner tried to send over money to our joint HSBC account to cover some vet fees, they confirmed the payee details and everything. Next thing we know our £1000 has been held by the ‘fraud department’ for nearly a week! Three secure messages sent, they keep asking for us to call a number to get our money released. They are only open to 6pm, and we both work all day with very little time to be sat on hold to a bank to access our money. We have been with many banks over the years and we have never had as much hassle! Very disappointed customers who will be switching services away from them very soon.

Great Bank to deal with

I've always found the CO-OP bank to be easy to deal with both on line and in branch. The ladies on the tills offer up to date information that I hadn't been aware of before. Now honestly what bank tells you straight out that if you did this you'd be better off money wise.

Went to open a current account and register saver account in Brighton western road. Extremely impressed by the knowledge, professional manners and friendly attitude of Cody she really was clear about the setting up process. A credit to her company. Great branch. Thank you

As a new customer making my first call…

As a new customer making my first call to Coop bank I have been holding for 22 minutes so far.
I was switching to them in 2 days but having serious concerns about the length of time it takes to get through. My current bank normally answer within 2 minutes so maybe I should stick with them

UPDATE; received a courtesy call to apologise for wait. Wait times are being looked into so hopefully future calls will be better. Updated review to 3 stars

I had an annual meeting with Gillian Berry and Danielle Adamson

The meeting was very helpful and informative, especially with them helping an old bugger like me to understand the app to get onto internet banking rather than the token. Once explained it is easy to use

Now being asked for further details to aid those trying to improve form. But this new form asks for same personal details and a reference number which hasn't been given, so ......!?

Perhaps minor issues: in completing application for regular savings product, trying to complete the section requiring account names details as per statements was frustrating and time consuming (time I'll never have again! - it too kept re-stating the required format (didn't like my correct entry) so had to try repeatedly until finally accepted.

Also the section requiring a memorable name was just as b....y fussy.

I would have telephoned for advice but I really couldn't suffer again hanging on the phone and listening to dreadful and distorted 'muzac'. I have complained twice.

Great service from Annila at Co-operative bank

I am not great at technology. Annila took my call, and despite problems of hearing each other, and my poor computer and app. skills, she showed an infinite amount of patience and kindness, and finally got everything sorted. She was brilliant.

Awful

Awful - after waiting an hour on hold I've just been told that the co-op bank has deleted my mortgage account details, as such can't send a closing statement and other important documents such as title deeds that should have been dispatched to me 4 months ago. Been advised to write them a letter, and not to even email! In this day and age, utterly unbelievable and extremely disconcerting.

Update: Just seen the response from Co-op bank, equally disconcerting - where did I say I had problems changing my address?! Not good customer service if there is no understanding of the problem.

Poor Customer Experience

I recently applied for a new account with the bank and tried to register for online banking. However, when I attempted to register online, my request was rejected by the system. I called the hotline on two different days, and while the customer service representatives were very helpful and tried to register the account for me, I still spent more than an hour with them, and my online banking registration did not work. Finally, they raised an IT ticket. It does not make sense for the bank to have such a complicated procedure, and it has resulted in a very poor customer experience. The worst part is that they cannot give me a timeline for the solution. My partner encountered the same issue, which seems to indicate ongoing IT problems that make me question the reliability of the bank.

The call centre takes a ridiculous…

The call centre takes a ridiculous amount of time to answer calls. I'm calling regarding my mortgage and being told the wait time is an hour... I guess it is staffed to the bare bones with a mindset to deter anyone to call them.

First Appointment at Co-op Bank

Ranjan was very professional and explained everything in details as I had explained I was dyslexic.
