Easy Breakfast Idea

If you are anything like us, you are in a mad dash each morning to get the kids up on time, dressed, fed and out the door to school.  All moms want to make sure we are feeding them something healthy that is going to fuel them all day long, but there are times when a PopTart or a frozen waffle is about as good as it gets.  My middle one was sick of the same old breakfast ideas that I was offering her, so we came up with something new!  She loved these egg muffins and I loved them because it is something I could make ahead of time and just warm up quickly on busy mornings.

We're sharing the recipe over on Savvy Sassy Moms. Click HERE to check it out!

Watermelon Coconut Cocktail Recipe

Everywhere where I turn right now people are frolicking in jeans, sweaters, and sharing countdowns for the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Oh my. People it's still 95 degrees out!

 With 110% humidity.

I'm sweating just thinking about walking from my front door to my car. Doing so in a sweater? Better go ahead and call in EMS for a case of heat stroke.

So I'm going against the Fall grain and embracing the fact that it will be summer here for like 197 more days. Occasionally it might dip down into the low 80's to where I can break out my favorite jeans, but for the most part I am just continuing my southern heat survival action plan.

The plan includes hydrating. Often.

Hydration with a little side of rum.

Because something has to numb you from all that humidity.

One of my favorite drinks to make in the warm weather months is this Watermelon Coconut Cocktail

And all jokes aside, watermelon and coconut are super hydrators! And this cocktail has a lot of them...so bottoms up!

Sharing all the details of the Watermelon Coconut Cocktail recipe on Savvy Sassy Moms so you too keep yourself cool and hydrated the rest of the Summer.

Cheers friends!

Do you have a favorite Summer cocktail? We're always looking for more ways to stay hydrated to share with us!

Mexican Inspired Charcuterie Board

Our love for Mexican food runs deep. I mean what's not to love about chips, salsa, margaritas, and -my personal favorite - cheese dip?! Today we present to you the Mexican Inspired Charcuterie Board

It's just as amazing as it sounds. And now we've been ruined of all other charcuterie boards forever.

A few weeks ago we were trying to think of a quick pre-soccer practice snack. Practice falls in that weird time frame that you have to decide to eat dinner at 4:30p.m. or 8:30p.m. (or both). Charcuterie boards I've found are a good way to sneak in a little healthy snack/dinner.

Call me crazy, but I feel like my kids are almost willing to eat a veggie more this way. It's as if broccolli being artfully styled near a block of cheese somehow makes it more appetizing.

As we approached Cinco de Mayo, I thought why not make a Mexican Inspired one? It was super easy to come up with items to put on it (not to mention - all the dips!!!), and the kids loved it.

I've thrown it in a few different entertaining situations we've had lately, and its been a huge crowd pleaser!

We're chatting about all the different ways you can create your own Mexican Inspired Charcuterie Board on Savvy Sassy Moms. Pop over to check it out, and don't forget to swing by and grab the Strawberry Margarita recipe Carrie Beth shared a few weeks ago. Your Taco Tuesday just got a whole lot yummier!

What are some of your favorite ways to make Charcuterie Boards?

Frozen Strawberry Margarita Recipe

I don't know about the rest of you, but this time of year is CRAZY!!!  Between end of school stuff, PTA obligations, end of season stuff for sports and then just regular life stuff I feel like my head is spinning.  BUT, the weekend is almost here and that means one of our favorite holidays is also almost here.

Cinco de Mayo is this Sunday and you better believe we are going to be celebrating with chips, salsa, queso and lots of our favorite cocktails...margaritas!!!

We love a good classic margarita recipe, but also love trying some fruity twists.  This frozen strawberry margarita is SO delicious.  Perfect to make ahead and serve if you have friends coming over and it hits the spot on a hot day.

This is a super simple recipe that you can make with any regular old blender and just a few ingredients. We're sharing the full recipe over on Savvy Sassy Moms today so head over there to check it out!

Sports Moms: How to Stay Warm During Cold Weather Seasons

Tips & Tricks on how to stay warm on the sidelines of cold weather sports.

Spring sports are fully underway, but Mother Nature hasn't gotten the memo yet to crank up the temperature. This is the South. We have our flip flops and sunscreen on standby so we can rock that awesome tan we get during the warm seasons.

If you're a spots mom, you know what we're talking about...

But for every sunny, warm tease that we get, we are met with ten days straight of freezing cold with a side of rain. It's the worst. Especially when it comes to sports that just play through it. We're looking at you soccer.

We've logged quite a few hours this season cheering on our favorite athletes while enduring those freezing metal benches and blustery open fields. Looking at the weather forecast and our game schedule for the weekend...we're already shivering.

But we've come up with some tips and tricks along the way that work to stay warm even on the coldest of days. From hockey moms to baseball moms and sports mom in between frozen on the sidelines while letting your kids live their best life - this one's for you. So grab your Hot Hands, and make the hop to Savvy Sassy Moms for the full read.

Love Notes To Your Kids

Valentine's Day is just one week away!!!  Hard to believe we are almost half way through February.  I feel like time is flying and part of that is because we are constantly rushing through our days.  I decided that this year for Valentine's Day I wanted to do something for my kids that I had done a few years ago and write little love notes to them each day in February leading up to Valentine's Day.

I shared this idea a couple of years ago HERE and also on Instagram Stories this year and had so much feedback.  I thought of a few different easy ideas for doing something similar with your kids and shared it over on Savvy Sassy Moms. You can check it out HERE!

And even though we're a week into February doesn't mean you couldn't start now and do this for the week leading up to Valentine's Day!

How To Make Santa Slime

Slime...we just don't get it, but the kids absolutely love it.

When my kids ask to make it the answer is usually no, but I decided to be a nice mom and let the kids make some Santa Slime last week.

It was a big hit and something they will probably end up playing with all of Christmas break if I had to bet on it.

Some clear slime, some fun mix-ins and I was declared the best mom ever!

Check out all the details on Savvy Sassy Moms today!

Spooky Spider Cupcakes for Halloween

Halloween is now just a hop, skip, and candy filled jump away. Our kids are sooooo excited about it! They've had their costumes picked out since before our Fall Break. They saw costumes they liked at Target and with just a click of a button they were on our door step in a few days. They are beyond excited to run around with their friends next week as a velociraptor, a Lip Stick Shopkins, and a mermaid

I saw that mermaid costume and swooned! I momentarily had visions of the girls being matching mermaids, and Cute being a shark, pirate or something else to go with the theme, but sadly the matching costume days are way behind us.

Along with Halloween costumes, and all the spooky fun, comes the parties. I usually try to volunteer for Halloween because it is one of the more fun parties to do throughout the school year. Plus there are a ton of options when it comes to games, crafts, books, and decor available. It makes it so easy!

This year with three little ones in school (and three parties to attend), I decided to keep things easy. These Spider Cupcakes literally took no time at all to make and are a fun way to get in the Halloween spirit.

In just a few easy steps you have a fun Halloween treat as well as a fun spider ring the kids can play with long after the treat is gone.

I'm dishing on all the details about these Spooky Spider Cupcakes over on Savvy Sassy Moms.
(Psst...I even share a cheat or two if you are wanting to keep this task under five minutes!)

Kitchen Confessions: Simple Sheet Pan Supper

It's no secret I don't love to cook. It's not really that I don't like to cook, but that I usually don't have the time. Between running kids around, helping with homework and getting everyone to their practices and games every evening, I'm usually rushed to figure out something for everyone to eat.

I finally found something that is an easy week night dinner and one that makes *most* everyone happy.  Simple Sheet Pan Suppers are my new go-to.

Literally you just chop up some vegetables, add some meat and seasoning, and bake.  One dish, one healthy meal, one less night to have to worry about dinner.

Plus, it's so very colorful that makes me feel good about feeding my family!  There are so many variations of this meal. Just by swapping the vegetables, meat and marinade you can come up with a ton of different meals!

I'm sharing this recipe and a few ideas for switching it up over on Savvy Sassy Moms. Be sure to head over and check it out!

Host a Mom-mosa Bar

A few years ago we used to joke that Spring and Summer were really "shower season". It seemed like every weekend was filled with bridal showers or baby showers. Now that we've gotten a little - ahem - older, our weekends are still filled, but with a different events sprinkled in. PTA lunches, brunches, or sports mom getaways - these months out of the year still are still jam packed with events.

No matter what event life throws our way, there is one thing that has remained constant over time - we love hosting! We think it is so fun to fill our home with guests. To mingle, chat, and make memories makes us happy. We know hosting can be a lot of work, and we've found a few tried and true tricks and recipes that transition well across any event.

Mimosas being one of them. We love a good mimosa recipe, but have recognize that different guests have different tastes. So, we came up with the idea of creating a mimosa bar, but with a fun twist. With a MOM-mosa bar we take our spread to the next level. Because if there's anything we know about moms, they know how to cocktail.

We're dishing on all the details about how to host your own Mom-mosa Bar with the ladies over on Savvy Sassy Moms

So check it out, invite some friends over to Mom-mosa and come back to let us know just how much more fun "shower season" is now that you know how to Mom-mosa!

Cheers!
