All computer user dread the day that they will lose data on their computers and losing data is something that can arguably be deemed as an eventuality in this age where almost everything is digital and are saved in computers. Because everyone is susceptible to this, even advanced users are still prone to this, what more are the novice PC users.

There are a lot of things that can cause data lose, data corruption, system failure, partitioning your drives, you hard drive dying on you, or due to human error. Users, sometimes, especially the more novice ones, would sometimes accidentally delete certain files and also remove them from the recycle bin without knowing those were important files that just got permanently deleted and only find out about it later when they need them the most which is too late.
But now, there are lots of data recovery software available that you can use. You can do a quick search on the internet and you will be able to find tons and tons of these so called recovery software that promises to find the solution for your recovery needs. But due to the number of recovery software tools available out there today, what the users really need is to find is the best data recovery software for them. The user would need to find the one that offers support for PC/Laptop, exteral disks, USB thumb drives, USB external drives, SD cards, memory cards among others. How to Create your Own Animated GIFs Online - 5 Best Ways

GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. Well normally you have seen many times moving images if you thing they are videos then you are wrong!! Here in this article we explained what are GIFs actually and how to create them online easily.

What Is The Concept Behind GIFs ?

Graphics Interchange Format is a technique in which images are compressed to lessen their size without compromising the quality of the images. This technique of compressing the images was first patented in 1985.

How To Create Your Own GIFs

There are numerous way to create your own GIFs, but here are some selected few which are simple and efficient ways to make your own GIF online.

One of my favorite option available on internet. Make a Gif has a very user friendly interface and you are just a 2-3 steps away from making your Gif.
Using Make a Gif you can select images like around 10 images to create your Gif. Morevover Make a Gif allows you to create Gif directly from a YouTube Url.
Limitations I can say is,the image you wish to upload should be less than 2 MB.

Just  another option for you to create you favorite Gif. ImgFlip allows you to directly create Gifs from the existing videos or you can share a link of video from interet as well.
  • ImgFlip provides a wide option for customizing you GIFs.You can specify the speed, size,FPS( frame per second)etc. You can download you Gif once you've done with everything for free .
  • You can directly add the video url from any website. All the popular format like - flv, avi, mov, mp4, mpg, mpeg, wmv, 3gp of videos are supported by IMG Flip.
  • Basically, you can create videos upto 70 MB , but IMG Flip allows videos of size 100 MB. I think the free version will also do if you want to convert a video in Gif.
  • So overall, IMG Flip is also a great option for you to create your own Gifs.

Gif Maker is another online portal which helps you create awesome Gifs without giving a single penny. One I like about Gif Maker is,it does not require any kind of registration.
So as shown in the image, it comes with a control panel where you can customize your Gifs accordingly.
  • Main features we can see here is – The size of the video ( Canvas or Frame ), the speed of the animation, also you can directly give a url of any video from internet.
  • Once you have created your Gif, you can download it. The image format supported are - .png , .jpg or .gif .
  • Gif Maker is good in all sense but the size of the image you are uploading should be less then 2 MB , pretty less .
  • Gif Maker is so user friendly that even a non technical person can use it and create his/her own Gifs.
So , if you want to create a Gif of small size images, Gif Maker comes handy.

  • My favorite Gif maker as it can create Gifs of images ranging from kb to mb.Size of the images is not the issue for Gickr.
  • If you are using Flickr, the Gickr will be the best option as you. This online portal allows you to directly grab images from Flickr or upload from your computer.
  • Just like other option shared here,Gickr also enables converting the You Tube videos into your favorite Gifs. You can add at the max 10 images for creating funny and flashy Gifs.
  • Once you have done with it you can download it and use it anywhere you want.Gickr is good the customization option are less as compared to IMG Flip. You can also control the size and speed of the images and videos.

One of the most widely used option to create Gifs online.Picasion gives lot of option to choose images from. You can select from Flickr, your picasa account or directly from your system.
The biggest advantage is, Picasion gets connected to your webcam and hence you can just take click or make video and it automatically gets uploaded to Picasion( Obviously you internet connection should be enabled ).
Picasion and Gickr mostly have the same features. Picasion also accepts 10 images of variable sizes. You just have the control of speed and size of your Gif that you are creating.
When you are in hurry and just need a Gifs , Picasion wiil be the quick solution for you.

Conclusion

So next time you want to create a banner or want to create some GIFs our own to be placed on your website don’t forget to refer this article.

Hope you like this article. Please let me know if you face any problem while creating Gifs. Also don’t forget to share your experience of how and where you use Gifs.Comment section is all yours. Cheers !

Alternatives to Google Hangouts

Google announced a unified messaging system, Hangouts. Hangouts is available for Android, iOS and the web via the Chrome extension, allowing you to stay connected with your friends regardless of what device you are using it on. But what if you don’t want to be on Hangouts? We round up three instant messaging clients with comparable features.

1) Adium
Adium is a free and open source instant messaging application developed for MAC OS X. It supports an extensive list of instant messaging services such as Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and Facebook Chat. One of its key features is tabbed messaging, where you are offered the flexibility of fitting all your conversations into one window. This maximizes efficiency and screen real estate. Another feature of Adium is its ability to merge multiple contacts into one entity on the contact list. This is extremely practical as many of us have different user names for different services. By combining them into a single entry, it makes the contact list leaner and easier to manage.
2) Trillian
Trillian is another powerful instant messaging application that is available on Windows, Mac, Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad and the web browser. Besides keeping you connected to a wide range of messaging clients and social networks, Trillian comes with POP3, IMAP and native IM mail integration. This means that you will be alerted to new mails. A small tab appears where you can decide whether to open the mail, mark it as read or spam, or archive it. The desktop version of Trillian helps to keep a record of your chat history. You can choose what to record contacts, conferences, connections, text conversations and images.
3) Digsby
If you combine the best of Adium and Trillian, you get Digsby. It is an instant messaging application for Windows with email and social network integration. Not only does Digsby support tabbed conversation windows, it also enables you to drag out individual tabs into their own windows for important conversations. Another nifty feature is the popup notification window. Even if Digsby is minimized, the popup window allows you to reply and then get back to what you are doing. You can personalize many aspects of Digsby from the look of the conversation window to the layout of the contact list. You also can customize what events or updates to be notified on, as well as how.

EnhanceYour iTunes Experience - 3 Easy to use Apps

iTunes is the music player of choice for most Mac users because it is easy to use and it is also used to sync and organize media on iPhones and iPads. Furthermore, it recently received a major update to address an aging interface and sluggish performance. Although iTunes is a competent music player, there are apps out that that can enhance your listening experience with iTunes, and at the same time, also create a musiccentric desktop theme. With these three apps, you can automatically download lyrics as you play songs, display the lyrics on your desktop, and even control iTunes with a customizable mini-player and keyboard shortcuts.

1) Get Lyrical
Get Lyrical is an app that automatically downloads lyrics to songs that you are playing in iTunes. It gets most of its lyrics from lyrics.wikia.com, and it worked well in our testing and can even download lyrics to Chinese, Japanese and French songs. Of course, if you are listening to songs from obscure indie bands or foreign artists, there’s a chance that the lyrics are not available. The app is dead simple to use and give users three options - Tag Selection, Tag Current and Active Tagging. Tag Selection tells the app to download lyrics for the selection of tracks you have made in iTunes. Tag Current downloads lyrics to the song that is currently playing. Finally, Active Tagging automatically downloads lyrics to songs as iTunes plays them. This is the most useful option, since once configured, it will work in the background and download lyrics automatically.
2) Desktop Lyrics
Desktop Lyrics is an app that does exactly as its name suggests - display lyrics on your desktop. The current version (2.2) is a paid app on the Mac App Store, but we found that the older version (1.3), which is available free, works just as well. The app offers a simple-looking preference pane for customization and that’s really all you need. With it, you can customize the position of where the lyrics will appear on your desktop and also choose your desired font, size and color. The app supports foreign languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean too. However, adjusting the position of where you want the lyrics to appear is a bit cumbersome, as the size of the lyric window is defined by setting indent spaces from the edge of the screen in pixels. This means some trial and error before you can get the position of the lyrics right. The paid version offers a preview function which makes this process easier, but if you are patient, the free version works just as well.
3) Bowtie App
iTunes has a MiniPlayer mode that lets you have control and access to your music collection without taking up too much desktop real-estate. With iTunes 11, the MiniPlayer mode has been drastically improved, but if you want something customizable, look to Bowtie. Bowtie is a free app that lets you “see and control” your music. It may not offer as much control as iTunes’ “MiniPlayer”, but you can customize the way it looks using free downloadable themes. Therefore, for those who are into desktop customization, Bowtie is perfect. The themes available are varied, and range from simple ones that display just track and album titles to more full-featured ones that display track progress, album art and even ratings. The same theme is often available in different color schemes too, to let users match their wallpaper.

Alternative iOS Web Browsers for iPhone, iPod and iPad

Safari is not the only choice for iPhone, iPod, iPad. There are many other alternatives as below.

1) Google Chrome:
Chrome's main trick is to sync with Google HQ so that your bookmarks, tabs. passwords, and the omnibox ‘memory' of sites on the desktop Chrome browser (or Chrome OS) are mirrored on your iOS device. Additionally, the Send to Mobile extension for desktop Chrome lets you forward pages to your mobile device for reading later even if the device is offline. voice search is built in (just hit the microphone icon in the Google search field) and lets you speak rather than type search queries. It's as accurate as Siri, which is to say it's frustrating and amazing in equal measure. Google Cloud Print is also built in, letting you print pages to any computer that's running the Chrome desktop browser or Chrome OS. That’s pretty neat, if only because it bypasses Apple's irritating AirPrint system that limits you to just a few manufacturers.

2) Mercury:
Mercury is available in either a free or a 69p paid-for version. Those behind Mercury aren't big on documentation and didn't respond to an inquiry email, but as far as I can see your 69p brings nothing more than TV output (via an adapter cable). However, this is not to say Mercury is lacking. Features that caught our eye include ad blocking. syncing with both Firetox and Chrome bookmarks, visual themes, the saying of downloads to a Dropbox account, and multi-touch gestures (swipe two fingers up to go back. leftfright to switch tabs and more). Mercury brings always viewable tabs to both iPad and iPhone, just like with a desktop browser. On the iPhone, it makes space for this by hiding the address bar when scrolling. It's an ingeniously simple and effective solution, although on both iPad and iPhone you’re limited to 15 tabs. However.

3) Puffin:
Puffin's 'cloud technology' approach brings to the iPad and iPhone video and interactive sites powered by Adobe Flash including games. It does this by rendering the entire site on sewers in the US and streaming it as video or images to your iOS device. Clever! This also lets it claim to be significantly faster than Safari. In our tests. Puffin was variable. In our first test across a 9Mbit ADSL connection there were often visual artefacts and stuttering with video and Flash animations, although most static sites rendered well. Our second test the next day was more and videos have a characteristically slower frame-rate. To play games that require a keyboard or mouse, you can activate an on-screen gamepad or trackpad. The latter comes complete with directional controller that sends the up/down/left/right cursor keyboard presses.

4) Opera Mini:
Opera Mini's biggest boast is that it can save money if you use mobile phone data connections. It does this by compressing data. Opera Mini sends the address of any site you request to Opera's sewers, where it's then fetched, compressed as much as possible, and encrypted, before being Squirted to your iPad or iPhone. Opera claims you receive up to 90% less data this way. Sadly, in our tests it gust didn't work and we wished there was a way to turn it off (there isn't). On an iPad's 3G mobile connection showing three bars, an ideal test, considering Opera Mini is supposedly also designed for slower connection speeds. Safari was able to load pages in around a third of the time it took.  Opera Mini, it was Even slightly slower than Safari when using a 9Mbit ADSL connection.

5) Dolphin:
If software is to he measured by the number of gimmicks it features, then Dolphin ranks highly. Its biggest boast is the use of gestures. Activate gesture mode then draw a G, for example, and you‘ll visit Google.com. Draw a T and a new tab will open. Draw a down arrow and you'll go to the bottom of the page. You can also create your own gestures very easily. Dolphin is also built around sharing and saving. You can share links with one tap via Facebook, Twitter, email and with other Dolphin users on the same network. You can also save pages to Evernote and Box (not Dropbox, although this can be installed as an extension, available on Dolphin‘s website). Extensions are available for the desktop versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari to allow syncing too.

6) Atomic Web Browser:
Available in both a stripped down ‘Lite’ version and a £1.49 fully featured version. Atomic is similar to Mercury in that it has a long feature list. The difference is that with Atomic there are no fancy icons on the settings menu or explanations of what cryptic features do ('Display lDN‘?). There are no thumbnail previews of bookmarks either, although you can set up speed dial. Which utilises thumbnails. Ultimately, though, this is a browser for the man (and it will be a man) who likes to work through long lists of options to make things just so. Features include ad blocking.  we were a little underwhelmed by Atomic. Aside from the tact it has a separate URL and search fields, rather than an omnibar, we couldn't really fault it. Then again, we couldn't find much to praise about it either. It does the job. It just isn't particularly elegant.

7) Skyfire:
Skyfire is the most expensive browser on test here, not least because its developer pulls the mean trick of producing separate versions for the iPhone (£1.99) and iPad (£2.99). Other browsers reviewed here use a single app approach, meaning that you only pay once thanks to Apples App Store policies. Skyfire's chief trick is to let you watch Flash video, which it does by transcoding them in a data warehouse before sending an iOS-friendly MP4 stream to your device. This has a few drawbacks. It's not full Flash compatibility. So you can't watch animations or play games. Flash videos that require passwords also won't work. Skyfires other big trick is Horizon. A scrollable list of icons at the bottom that allow you to share stuf you're seeing, or get quick pop-up access to news sites.

Turn Your iPhone and iPod into a Multitrack Recorder

FourTrack app brings back the days of the cassette-based portastudio

VITAL INFO:
-DEVICE: iPhone
-DIFFICULTY: Beginner
-TIME REQUIRED: Varies

WHAT YOU NEED:
-FourTrack (£2.99, itun.es/i6JC9jS)
-iOS 4.3 or later

Sonoma’s FourTrack was one of the first multi-track recording apps for the iPhone and does a great job of mimicking the original concept, despite its limitations. That means, for example, you can’t erase a track that’s gone wrong – you can only record over it or use the navigation wheel to position the recording in the right spot, then drop in to record the ‘fix’ and then drop out again.
Having recorded on all four tracks, you can also ‘bounce’ them down to the first two tracks, then record again on to tracks three and four. The app comes with a compressor, parametric EQ and amps and effects for electric and acoustic guitarists. There’s even a selection of drums patterns to help keep you in time. FourTrack works best with an external mic, but is a brilliant modern take on the portastudio.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:
1) Getting started: Download FourTrack from the App Store and tap the icon to begin. For anyone used to conventional digital recording where tracks are arranged like swimming pool lanes, this will be a shock. There are four tracks, each with a volume slider and pan wheel, and a Rec Arm button that readies the track for recording.
2) The first track: Tap the Rec Arm button at the foot of the first track. When you do, the big grey button at the bottom left of the screen will turn red. Slide it to the right and then start recording your first track. As you do, watch the LED meter to make sure that the volume does not stray up into the red and distort the recording.
3) Listening back: When you’re finished, FourTrack will rewind and arm the next track ready for recording. Alternatively, tap play to listen to the track you have just recorded, and if it’s okay, arm the next track manually and record that – as you do, the first track will play back at the same time. Here we’re playing back all four tracks.
4) Accessing song tools: Re-record any tracks you’re not happy with, either completely or by dragging the horizontal scroll wheel left or right to the point in the recording where you want to fix a mistake; as with real portastudios, this is an imperfect science. When you have finished, tap the Song Tools button and type in a name for the recording.
5) Bouncing tracks: Swipe the Song Tools screen to the left to reveal the editing screen. We’re going to ‘bounce’ our four tracks down to two. Tap Bounce and then tap To this Song. This will mix all four tracks and record them on to tracks one and two, then pan them left and right. You can now record on tracks three and four again.
6) Mixing the song: Return to Song Tools, tap Mixdown and then Mix this Song. FourTrack will mix your recording down to a stereo WAV file. At the next screen, tap the Wifi Sync button and follow the instructions to connect to a computer. After a moment, the song will appear on the computer screen. Click the Mix button to open it in iTunes.

Sync notes and Gmail with GNotes

Write notes using an app which makes light work of the process and saves them to your Gmail account
1. Download the GNotes app from Google Play (it’s free) and open it. You are able to start writing notes straight away but we can’t keep the notes in the cloud so we will sign up to our Gmail account first. Tap Setup to start.

2. Having selected the Email option, we have two choices. By selecting XOAuth, we can allow the app access to our Gmail account. Tap Grant and enter your details. Other email accounts can be added via the Email/Password tab.

3. At this point, any notes you go on to make will be synced to your Gmail account under the label Notes. The app will show you exactly where this is with an explanatory screen. You can now write a note. Tap ‘+’ in the right-hand corner.

4. By tapping the four boxes in the top-right of a note, you can access many options including the ability to record or handwrite a note. Files can be attached and you can also include a photo. The Camera option lets you take a photo.
