Know Your Sheet...

I thought it would be fun for the 5 year anniversary to take a look at the most viewed post on this blog. In truth this is the second most viewed post, but the first most viewed is only that because 1) it was for a blog carnival and 2) it somehow made it onto a page that all the spammers use to find blog posts in hopes of luring clicks.

So, what is this blog post? It was a ranty post on how a Player should know their character sheet. You can find it here. Below the break are my thoughts on that post.

Flashback: A Campaign or a Story

A recent conversation with a friend brought this topic back to mind, and after citing my own blog in the discussion - how arrogant/cool is that? - I realized that I do like this post. It is also good to read for anyone who is thinking of starting up a new game in the near future.

Flashback: Character Death

First, I apologize for how late this is going up. Something about Mondays just makes me miss the update time. I'll have to work on that. On the plus side though, I did have a good weekend. The game on Saturday that I talked about here did end up in a TPK - well, everyone had to burn a fate rank - but also ended up being a lot of fun due to some unexpected happenings from two vortexes of doom that just wouldn't sputter out of existence. Speaking of that game, and fueled by an L5R game I was also in, I want to talk about Character Death. Only, I already have. Which makes this a perfect chance for another Flashback, no? As usual, skip to the bottom for the post commentary on this. The original post was put up on February 9, 2010. Wow, we're over 2 years old!

Flashback: Bad Players

Today is going to be a short post. I apologize for that, but it is late and I am tired. I'll try to get a more full length post up Friday to make up for it for you guys. That said, I have expanded my readership here over the past nearly 2 years, and so I figured I'd ask you guys this question.

Flashback - Presenting Bad Choices

It's been a while since I did the first one of these, and with it being late - and me being lazy - I figure it is time to do another one. Today's flashback is from August 27th 2010 (so about a year ago). The post will follow after the break, and then my commentary on the post itself. For those who are new - or just forget - the idea behind a flashback is to bring back an old post for discussion and to see if viewpoints have changed. In short, it's a way for me to use my old work as "new" content. Yep, LAZY.

Flashback: Know Your Character Sheet

As I said in my "State of the Blog" post a few months/weeks/whatever ago, I wanted to do a new series. One of these series is called 'Flashback'. In a Flashback post, I am going to post an old, popular post from about a year (if not more) ago. However, at the end of the post I am going to post my current thoughts and reopen the topic to discussion. People's views change over time, and new insight - or just additional things that need to be said - can come up. So, with that in mind, here is the first Flashback. This post was originally posted on August 4th, 2010 and has the most views of any post on this blog by over 600 views.
