The Professional Part 2 by Kresley Cole

Posted on Jan 6, 2014 with No comments

He makes the rules . . .

Mafiya enforcer Aleksandr "The Siberian" Sevastyan’s loyalty to his boss is unwavering, until he meets the boss’s long-lost daughter, a curvy, tantalizing redhead who haunts his mind and heats his blood like no other. Ordered to protect her, Sevastyan will do anything to possess her as well—on his own wicked terms.

Rules are made to be broken . . .

PhD student Natalie Porter had barely recovered from her first sight of the breathtakingly gorgeous Sevastyan before the professional hit man whisks her away to Russia, thrusting her into a world of extreme wealth and wanton pleasures. With every day she spends under his protection, she falls deeper under his masterful spell.

Are you ready to play?

Yet all is not as it seems. To remove Natalie from an enemy’s reach, Sevastyan spirits her into hiding. From an opulent palace in Russia to the decadent playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest—and most forbidden—fantasies can come true…

Warning: The Professional Part 2 by Kresley Cole is an epicurean feast of all things carnal. Readers will be left hot, bothered and of course, yearning for more. Cole brings a depth of sensuality that is palpable, leaving readers trying to grasp reality as they are swept away into a world of the hedonistic and arousing. The Professional has become one of those tantalizing reads that is whispered about and shared among friends, whom are reading it as well. Awaiting it's arrival was no easy deed. An event to savor, dissecting each delicious affair that takes place with rounds of scoring, utilizing oohs, aahs, and OMGs into the wee hours of the morning. Cole serves us tortured Siberian, whom has readers thirsting for a aggrandized idea of a man of our own. There are many succulent aspects to this particular book and the series, yet prepare for a major "coitus interruptus" as Cole leaves readers hungry, languishing for one sexy Russian. There is much to be said about an author who takes her readers to far off lands and leaves them pendulous, carnivorous for what they never knew they wanted. Hands down the must read serial to kick of the year.

Review: Pirate Dave and His Randy Adventures by Robyn Peterman

Posted on Jul 31, 2013 with 1 comment

This is not your mama's romance!

After all was said and done, the disgusting novella meant to destroy a story stealing New York Time’s best-selling author’s career was successful. Rena, an accountant with no discernible literary talent, and her band of adorable porno writing grannies came up with the worst piece of literature, (and I use that word loosely), that was ever written. Amazingly enough, it became a cult classic. Who in the hell knew there was an underground need to know and love a Time-Traveling Vampire Warlock with erectile dysfunction and his conjoined lady loves, Laverne and Shirley? Apparently the need is there and now so is the full version of their story . . .
** Special Note from Author Robyn Peterman **
This is a spoof. A profane romance spoof not meant for anyone under 18. I was threatened lovingly and repeatedly by my readers to write the full version of Pirate Dave. He was born of the need to create a horrific career ending romance novel to destroy a really bad, nasty villainess . . . and Thank you Buddha in a tube top, it worked! I laughed my way through writing this and I hope you will enjoy this small slice of my warped brain. NO, this is not what I normally write, but I certainly had a good time penning it! If you want to read the real romance story, you’ll have to peruse HOW HARD CAN IT BE? You’ll find the first three chapters at the end of the hot mess you’re about to read . . . And now, I give you the career ending novella, (hopefully not mine) otherwise known as PIRATE DAVE AND HIS RANDY ADVENTURES.

I gave this book

Peterman's foray into career ending romance screams PRICELESS! This amazing spoof born of the How Hard Can It Be novel, will go down in the record books. Peterman uses her avant garde ways to cast a spell on readers. You will find yourself drawn in like a moth to flame, completely bewildered by your surroundings and laughing all the way. This quirky, fun and insanely perplexing love story will have you clamoring for more. In order for this book to be enjoyed to its fullest potential, in my opinion, readers must read How Hard Can It Be by Robyn Perterman. Robyn Peterman is now an automatic buy for me. There is no telling where she will take us next, but I want to be on that bandwagon, for sure.

Review: Devilishly Sexy by Kathy Love

Posted on Aug 5, 2012 with 1 comment
He couldn't suppress the low growl of satisfaction as he thrust, plunging deep in one smooth stroke, fully, to the hilt.
"God, that feel so good," he groaned, his eyes rolling in their sockets with pure exaltation.
His rough words were answered with a low, desperate moan that filled him with more delight.
It had been far to long. No man should have to go so long without this. This moment of pure ecstasy. And he wasn't too humble to know he was damned good at it. Damned good.
He pulled out, positioning himself again, his fingers tightening around the thick girth in his hand, heavy and hot. A fine shaft, if there ever was one. He couldn't help taking a moment to admire it in his hand. Beautiful. An old, dear friend.
Then he sank it in again with unerring accuracy. Deep to the hilt. And that was all it took.
He remained totally still, allowing himself to feel that moment of total surrender. The shudder, a tiny, almost imperceptible quiver, then complete release.
He stared at the limp body pinned to the wall by his sheer, unrestrained strength. Eyes closed, head flung back, lips parted in a silent cry.
Now that was true beauty.
Finally he pulled out, and before the object of his determined onslaught could start to sag into a boneless, spent heap, he grasped his powerful shank for the very last stroke. The most satisfying of them all.
With a powerful sweep of his arms, he struck and a gush of warm stickiness covered his hands, his forearms. Even his chest and face. He didn't care.
He watched with a strange combination of pleasure and utter dispassion as his target's head disconnected from his body, flying through the air. It rolled across the cracked and oil-stained concrete and came to a wobbling stop under a parked car.

Cindy's Review:
Yeah...I almost fell over laughing on that one...my dirty little mind was in the gutter the whole time! This is the first 2 pages of Devilishly Sexy and it only gets better from there. Beautiful, sexy Liza McLane is the editor-in-chief for HOTS magazine...she loves what she does, just NOT who she does it for. DEMONS! In order to control her a demon has possession of her and keeps her from having a normal life.
In walks devilishly handsome Michael Archer who works in the mailroom at HOTS...well not really. Surprise, surprise~he's a demon slayer.
When the two of them come together, Liza will do anything to have a relationship with Michael. And Michael will tempt whatever fate has in store for him to be with Liza. What will happen when each discovers what the other does or has had done to them in Liza's case? Well you're just gonna have to read Kathy Love's Devilishly Sexy to find out...They say the Devil wears Prada~in this case "the Devil wears whatever the heck she wants"...

ARC The Sheikh's Redemption by Olivia Gates

Posted on Jun 27, 2012 with No comments

He would claim the throne. And her…

For Prince Haidar Aal Shalaan, taking the reins of a kingdom in chaos is a matter of honor. Not that his rivals to the throne would be defeated easily. And then there is Roxanne Gleeson, the one woman whose memory he cannot erase, the lover who once rejected him. Now she pretends a cold disdain for their once—and still—desperate passion. But he will not be denied either the throne of his motherland or Roxanne back in his bed. One is his birthright, the other his heart's desire. And together they are…his redemption.

The Sheikh's Redemption by Olivia Gates gives us that destination read we all crave.   Gates does not disappoint in this enjoyable read that transports us to sands of the Middle East.  Prince Haidar is smokin' hot and Roxanne can't forget him, theirs is a  passion that will not die.  Harlequin delivers once again, stories that are perfect for daily reads.  There is just enough action, romance, and angst to keep readers happy.  I am looking forward to both Rasid's and Jalal's stories.  Rasid is scarred and wrapped in a cloak of mystery, and  Jalal, Haidar's happy go lucky twin, has secrets of his own, their stories scream to be told.  Jalal's story will be available September 2012 titled The Sheikh's Claim.

Review: Darker After Midnight by Lara Adrian

Posted on May 5, 2012 with No comments
A Midnight Breed Novel

The climactic novel in Lara Adrian’s New York Times bestselling Midnight Breed series—and her hardcover debut—Darker After Midnight invites readers
to enter a thrillingly sensual world where danger meets desire.

In the dark of night, a blood war escalates within the hidden world of the Breed. After existing in secret for many long centuries, maintaining a fragile peace with the humans who walk beside them unaware, a single act of retaliation has put the entire vampire nation at risk of discovery. It falls to the Order—a cadre of Breed warriors pledged to protect their own and humankind alike—to stop Dragos, the power-mad vampire at the center of the conflict, before his push for domination can explode into catastrophe.

At the center of the Order’s quest is Sterling Chase, once a morally rigid enforcer of Breed law, now a warrior fallen from grace, whose biggest battle is the one he wages against his own savage nature. With addiction beckoning him toward eternal darkness, Chase’s path to redemption has never seemed more out of reach. But when his eyes meet those of Tavia Fairchild, a beautiful witness who identifies him at the scene of a mission gone terribly wrong, Chase finds himself drawn to the woman—and convinced she is something much more than she seems.

Pulled into a vortex of intrigue and danger she can neither resist nor understand, Tavia is uncertain whom to trust. And while everything sane and logical warns her against getting close to Chase, she cannot deny that the handsome, deeply haunted male stirs something primal and ravenous within her. But even as she surrenders to her cravings, nothing can prepare her for the shattering truth of who—and what—she truly is.

As the Order’s enemy mobilizes for the battle of the ages, Dragos and his Minions unleashing a hell on Earth like nothing ever seen before, Chase and Tavia are thrust into the heart of the violence. With time running out and the streets running red with the blood of innocent lives, both Breed and human, together Chase and Tavia must find a way to defeat Dragos once and for all—or die trying.

I gave this book a 4

Darker After Midnight by Lara Adrian is honor bound, each time readers yearn for more, Adrian complies.   Chase gives readers his story and introduces Tavia, who is one of Dragos' many pet projects, to a hidden world. As Chase struggles with his demons, Tavia learns that she is not all that she seems to be and everything she believed to be true was a lie. Chase awakens a thirst in Tavia that only he can quench, with breathless moments of desire and hunger sending DAM into its own stratosphere.  Readers will enthusiastically turn the pages to learn more details in this developing saga.   The clock is ticking, a new world has emerged, will the breeds be able to save the human race?  Everything has changed....Darker After Midnight by Lara Adrian is a must read!

Review: A Sliver of Shadow by Allison Pang

Book 2
Abby Sinclair Series

WAR IS HELL. AND WAR WITH HELL IS NO FUN EITHER.
Just when her new life as a TouchStone—a mortal bound to help OtherFolk cross between Faery and human worlds—seems to be settling down, Abby Sinclair is left in charge when the Protectorate, Moira, leaves for the Faery Court. And when the Protectorate’s away . . . let’s just say things spiral out of control when a spell on Abby backfires and the Faery Queen declares the Doors between their worlds officially closed. The results are disastrous for both sides: OtherFolk trapped in the mortal world are beginning to fade, while Faery is on the brink of war with the daemons of Hell. Along with her brooding elven prince Talivar and sexy incubus Brystion, Abby ventures to the CrossRoads in an attempt to override the Queen’s magic. But nothing in this beautiful, dangerous realm will compare to the discoveries she’s making about her past, her destiny, and what she will sacrifice for those she loves.
Cindy's Review:
I get frustrated when I read a book that's a cliffhanger. I mean what happens if something comes up and the next book is never printed? We'll never find out what happens...*sob* I usually don't make a habit of reading cliffhangers, I don't watch soap operas, I won't even watch a 2 part movie! Having said that, I will go on record to say that this particular addition to the misadventures of Abby Sinclair is outstanding in its wonderful description of the Fae world and its many inhabitants.

Our delicious Abby is the Touchstone to the Protectorate of the Fae world, which means she can open the gate between worlds. We last saw Abby trying to make sense from the fact that Brystion, her lover, dumped her and walked away. Enter her bodyguard, hot, hot, hot Talivar the emotionally and physically scarred Prince of the Fae.

While Moira, Fae Princess and Protectorate is in Fairy trying to make sense of her mothers madness, an incident causes the doors to be shut down, making travel non-existent. Without the magic in their souls, the Fae caught on this side of the doors will fade away. Abby uses her abilities and a powerful key to open the doors to get her group back to their Fae home, a mad rush causes her to become separated from her magical Prince placing her life and soul in grave danger.

From the frying pan, to the fire, to the coals, to hell. And on pins and needles I will wait (not patiently mind you) for Allison Pangs: A Trace of Moonlight!

Ooh, quote from this book that caught my eye: The puca's ears cupped towards me, "Anything good?"
I took another bite. "What do you care? You dumped my ass in a puddle. You think I'm gonna give you my food?"

Posted on Jan 8, 2012 with No comments

Viking raiders destroyed Wilda's home. She witnessed the murder of her mother and would have been killed herself if it weren't for the Viking boy Einar, who saved her from his ruthless brother. The blood and murder left Wilda cold and shorn of feeling.

Einar has been cursed to silence by his brother. With the dark net of his brother's power cast over their village, silence is a small price to pay for his family's safety. But Einar is immediately drawn to Wilda, and the need to protect her from his brother awakens his Viking courage. Can Einar break his brother's curse in time to save the village and the woman he loves?

A riveting, agonizing journey of one viking and one Saxon woman.  The Viking's Sacrifice by Julia Knight is gut retching and hypnotizing.  Einar and Wilda will pull you in every direction as their story is told in this poignant display of sacrifice.  Beautifully written, The Viking's Sacrifice will resonate with readers.  I am truly delighted with this book, it is my first historical romance of the year and quite memorable.

Alien Tango by Gini Koch offers a very close embrace, with no small steps, and syncopated rhythmic footwork of alien proportions.  That's right, this Tango has it all going on!  Ms. Koch doesn't just make a sequel to Touched By An Alien, she has indeed invented her own tango. "Exciting, incisive, provocative" with all kinds of yummy aliens are just a few words describing this book.  We get to meet Jeff's family and more of "Mommy"'s other life keeps emerging.  New aliens are making there debut in this one, some of which we've only heard their voices in book one. We finally get to meet the notorious "Chuckie" and Kitty will have to deal with the in-laws  If you thought Kitty had an uncanny way of finding trouble in book 1, wait until you get your hands on this puppy.  Kitty and Jeff along with their crew at the TBAA will have to tango with all sorts of nasty!  This is a must read action packed tango!
