YG Entertainment has been teasing a new girl group since 2020, and in 2023 that group finally made their debut. BABYMONSTER consists of seven members: Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Rami, Rora, Chiquita, and Ahyeon. It was revealed by YG Entertainment that Ahyeon would not be participating in debut activities due to health issues, but she may be joining the other members later, and BABYMONSTER will continue as a seven-member group.

S2 Entertainment has been dropping hints of a new girl group entering the scene since 2022. In July 2023, KISS OF LIFE finally debuted with their first album also named KISS OF LIFE. The group consists of four members: Julie, Natty, Belle, and Haneul.

Although NiziU is new to the K-pop scene, the girls have a lot of experience in the music industry. The group was formed by JYP Entertainment's survival program Nizi Project Season One in 2020. The nine members consist of: Nina, Rima, Miihi, Mako, Ayaka, Rio, Riku, Mayuka, and Maya.
After making the final line-up, the girls debuted as NiziU in Japan on December 2, 2020 with the single “Step and a Step.” On October 30, 2023, the group took their talents to Korea and debuted with the single album Press Play.
