But it is a challenge so first...I challenge you to play along!!

Here are the rules!!!

  • royal blue
  • light blue
  • black
  • white
  • grey/silver
2. Create any project.

  • Leave this information in the comments section in the challenge blog.
Ok...now that I've put all of THAT out there!!! It's onto my creation!!!
I started - as I've been saying over and over in every post...with my SCRAP drawers and bins. I grabbed a sizable piece of silver cardstock from SU!. I then layered with blue, glittery cardstock and then a thinner layer of silver American Crafts DP. I am using Tattered Angel as my new image!! I love her because she could be an angel OR a super heroine!! (she kind of looks like a superheroine to me!!!!)

I colored her using my Copics and Quickie Glue pen to add the sparkles on her wings and boots.
I stamped the sentiment Sparkle from the SU! set - Warm Words.

And then I sat back and looked. It was super clean, crisp and pretty. But to me it looked...a tad blank-ish. So I grabbed my quickie glue pen and doodled my standard flower/cloud doodle that I do whenever I'm on the phone, making a list, etc..etc. I've been doodling this shape ever since high school!! LOL! In any case...I like the sketchy quality to them that was once translated when glitter was put on.
I hope you enjoy my creation!!! Now...remember the rules...leave some love then off you go to Mia's stunning blog to see what she's created for us today! Don't forget to leave some love!!!!

Thanks for playing along today!! I hope you have fun!!!!!

XOXO-

Robyn's Fetish Wacky Wednesday Freebie!!

Hi All!!

Welcome to another awesome Wacky Wednesday Freebie Day over at Robyn's Fetish!! Today we have Candy Glamour Girl to give away!! She is TOO cute and just adorable for a number of different types of cards and/or scrapbook layouts!!
I, once again, per my New Year's "agreement" with myself - delved into my scrap drawer (and bin...oh and the other scrap bin...and that box over there...) hehe...and pulled together an adorable mish mash of lights and darks to form my card.

I started wtih a light pink base, of which I rounded all of the corners. The second layer is from a Mat stack (I believe) as is the pink stripe down the center. The other solid pieces are scrap from either SU! or PTI cardstock.

I stitched the dark green layer down with a zig zag stitch. I then added the pink ribbon with white stitching on the right hand side but it seemed off balance. I then added the River Rock scrap with the pink DP down the center. I used SU!'s Birthday Beauty, to stamp crowns and a microphone, as I think this cutie looks like a Beauty Queen with her adorable rollers, nightie and ever perfected, oh so gracious wave!! The sentiment inside (Wishing You A Day Filled With Beauty and World Peace) and out (Birthday Beauty) also came from this set. The word FOR on the front is from a SU! rub on set.
I used my Quickie Glue Pen to add the gold sparkles for the crowns. I then stuck a little puffy heart stick pin through the ribbon.

I colored up Candy with a variety of my Copics and Souffle pens. The flowers on her nightie are from an SU! rub on set and her make up bottle and brush handle are sparkled up with Doodlebug Black glitter applied with my Quickie Glue pen as well.

The inside is decorated with a freebie image that I grabbed while browsing Lori's Links (see sidebar) and I know it's a little 'holiday-ish' but it was just too pretty and sparkly not to use!!
You can see that I added my sentiment on another piece of scrap for some dimension and I added a little scallop bottom for visual interest.

I hope you've enjoyed and find inspiration in my WW card!!!

Please check out my fellow team member's creations as well before stopping at the Challenge Blog to pick up this cutie freebie!!

And while you're there, please check out our newest VALENTINE'S OWLS!! Seriously??? They could NOT be cuter!!!

Robyn's Fetish (amazing design team!!!) - Note - a couple of the ladies are on hiatus for a couple of weeks but please hop around so that you don't miss any of their beautiful and gorgeous creations!!
Thanks for visiting!!

Robyn's Fetish - Weekly Challenge #18

Hi Everyone!!!

Welcome to another AWESOME week of our Robyn's Fetish Challenge!!! This week's challenge is to create a project incorporating an Asian Flair into your piece.

This week I chose an image of Pansies that I've had from Robyn for a while. I haven't created with it until now! It's like the image was waiting for JUST the right creation to come along!

My card base is in Black MS cardstock, layered next with light pink also MS cardstock and then the Cherry Blossom paper is from The Paper Source that I purchased a couple of years ago.

I tied that all together with black twill tape in a bow with a small piece of gold cording tied in a knot around the bow.
My image is colored with Copics and layered first on the same light pink MS cardstock, then on Basic Grey - Scarlet Letter paper, and then on more MS black cardstock. I corner rounded the top left corner for visual interest and softness.

I added red and pink buttons threaded with The Paper Source 4-Ply Linen twine and adhered with tiny glue dots.

The Chinese symbol for Love adorns the bottom right hand corner. Inked in black craft ink and heat set on light pink cardstock backed with a black scallop punch.
The inside has the matching pink cardstock and the symbol stamped again 3 times in Rocket Red Brilliance Ink and heat set. I also added a strip of the black twill tape along the bottom.

I hope you've enjoyed my creation!! And I do hope that you are inspired to play along this week!!!

We'll have the post up on Saturday with the Mr. Linky link so that you can easily add your creations over here!!!

Don't forget to go see the rest of our fantastic Design Team Member's creations!!! You will not be disappointed!!

Congratulations and God Bless Baby B!

My family and I were honored to be invited to our very fabulous friend's son's Christening yesterday. He is a GORGEOUS baby boy and his sister is even more delicious and fabulous if that's at all possible! ;)

Anyway, here is the card that I made to give to Mummy and Daddy in celebration and honor of this very special occasion.
I started with a base of PTI Aqua mist. The next layer is basic white cardstock from PTI as well followed by a light olive cardstock from Martha Stewart. The next layer is the designer paper from American Crafts. I thought that the water droplets would be appropriate for just such an occasion. After that I stitched around the edges with a leaf embroidery design on my sewing machine. I wanted some kind of cross or church image but I don't have one lone stamp that has anything of the like on it. I have lots of Jewish holiday stamps but unfortunately no Christian types of any kind!!

But I'm good at improvising so I went into MS Word and did a clip art search for cross. There were a lot to choose from but I didn't want it being huge and imposing on the sweet and delicate card so I chose this adorable one of a little church on a hillside with 3 swirly stars in the sky and one flying through. I thought the 3 could represent each person, Mum, Dad and Big Sister and the shooting star would be our baby boy as the STAR of the day!! =) Anyway, I scaled down the image quite a bit in order to create a border out of it. Once I had printed and matted and adhered it to the card, I then used my glaze on the church to make it pop and puff up a little bit more and I used my glue pen to dazzle up the "family" stars. ;)Lastly, I had already printed out this adorable baby boy image from Robyn's Fetish. In MS Paint I removed the squiggly from his head as Baby B has such fair hair that it just wouldn't be an accurate representation of him! LOL! I colored him with my Copics and Copic blender. I trimmed him out and snuggled him nicely in the middle of the card slightly overlapping the border below. But the top needed "something" so I tied a ribbon and that just didn't work so I cut the ribbon loops and cut the rest of the ribbon off and just made it a simple double knot. I adhered that on and voila! All done!! I LOVE how it came out and I hope my friends did too!!

So many Congratulations and Blessings to them!!!

Here was the challenge issued to us:

  • any RF image
  • 1 patterned paper
  • 3 colors of cardstock
  • fibers
  • buttons
  • punches or die cuts
I was lucky enough to be able to work with Hector da House Mouse in da Chimney . I've been giggling at him all day because he's just so darn cute!!!
My paper is all Crate Paper. Except for the plain white cardstock that I printed Hector out on. My card base is a chocolate brown, 6 x 6 square card.

My next layer is plain green distressed DP from Crate. It's the back of the striped trees you see at the bottom. I ran my crimson pigment ink pad over it, coated it in clear embossing powder and heat set it. It gave the paper a super cool texture.

I then stitched around the outside with green thread. I used my Cricut to cut the Christmas Tree border and dazzled it up a bit with the opposite side of the paper while the other trees received glittery treatments =)

The button trifecta is, as you know, one of my favorite combos to use. These are all vintage buttons from Nana's sewing basket. I trimmed Hector out for placement before I colored him and added the large, green chiffon bow with the tiny silver cording in the middle to balance the open space out.
I colored Hector with my Copics and the rest of him was just completely glitterfied!!! I LOVE him he's just too stinkin' adorable!! As are ALL the rest of the images that Robyn has newly released!! You MUST run to the shop as everything is on sale!!! 30% off!!!!

Robyn's Fetish Design Team Challenge #9!!!

Good morning everyone!!!! Welcome to another FABULOUS week of Robyn's Fetish Challenges!!!

Today we were issued a COLOR challenge!! I LOVE color challenges as they often put together colors that I may not have paired up myself.

This week is the following:

  • Blue
  • Lilac
  • Silver/Grey
  • White
And the image must be printed in BLACK ink only! =)
I printed the chimney stockings image first. Using my Copics and silver paint pen I took my time coloring in this super fun image. I used my glue pen and turquoise and purple sparkles to bling up the ornaments on the mantle.

I decided to go with a 5 x 5 square card base in blue. I then had a scrap of the gray/white toile paper that I used as my background paper. I then layered light blue under the lilac and stitched the awesome chimney stockings image on top.

I then used my type-set looking stickers (except the R in bright - which is a rub on) to add the sentiment "merry & bright".

As a last touch, because you all know I just can't leave well enough alone, I added turquoise self- adhesive rhinestones to the center of the blue snowflakes for just another little "touch".

Please come and play along!!! Post your link on Robyn's challenge blog!!!

It's a super fun color challenge!! Enjoy and have fun!!

Thanks for visiting!!!

RF Weekly!!! Style Challenge!!

Hello Hello!! Welcome to another week of Robyn and Donna's FABULOUS challenges!!! This week's challenge is as follows:

  • Your challenge for this week is to create a card/paper craft project that has a vintage or shabby chic feel to it.
  • You can use any RF image.
After receiving our DT challenges for the months of Oct and Nov, I read through them and THIS one jumped out at me and practically knocked me over. In a flash I knew exactly what Robyn's Fetish Image I wanted to use. Although I wasn't entirely sure WHAT I was going to do with this it ever so slowly formulated itself over about 4 days.

I've created a Vintage Purse Garland! I wanted simple, clean, not my standard blingidy bling. Quiet, somewhat serene, peaceful. Something that you just look at and love.

I started by enlarging the purse image in MS Paint...super easy. I then printed it out on 3 different pieces of Designer Paper. I adhered the three respective purses to a lightweight chipboard. I then trimmed them out and filed the edges to smooth the cutting out a bit as well as to begin the distressing process.

Each bag started out with my gold paint pen to color in the purse hardware. Since they were all going to be so different, I wanted to create some continuity among them. And they all have the same purse feet. Yes...they are really called feet. You know a bag is a good bag when it has feet on it. But I digress...I cut 6- 3/4" circles and hot glued them to the bottom back of each purse. Roughly half way through the circle so that only a semi-circle would show for the feet. I then used regular white glue to stick my silver, vintage, real glass glitter to the feet. Once the feet were dry I went over them again with the glue and the glitter with a final touch up of Silver Stickles. I really wanted them to shine!

For all the purses my procedures were the same. I scuffed them up with my sanding block, and a variety of ink pads and then a nail file. Each purse has it's own little touch.

The green one has a small, distressed embellishment with a minty green brad in the center. The ivory and rust colored flowered one has vintage reproduction stickers so I trimmed one out that I thought matched nicely along with the AIX LES BAINS sticker. But after I added them on I really beat them up with my nail file. It looks SO cool!! Lastly, the pink purse received a felt flower that I sort of made. I have these flat felt flowers but I wanted something 'corsage' like. So I gathered the bottom and zipped it through my sewing machine. I then rubbed a grey ink pad over it to "dirty it up" a bit. And hot glued it to the purse. I then created the hanging structure which is nothing more than picture hanging wire and 2 three ring binder rings. I used bulldog clips to hold the purses on and attach them to the wire.

I carefully chose ribbon that would compliment each purse and completely distressed the ribbons...basically to shreds!! =)

Thanks SO much for visiting!!! I hope you enjoyed my creation!!

XOXO-

RF Weekly!! Theme Challenge!!!

Welcome to another week of FABULOUS CHALLENGE BY ROBYN'S FETISH!!!

Our challenge was to create a card for a man - NOT USING ANY BROWN OR BLUE!! YOWZA!!! I think this has been the toughest challenge yet!! So...I started by figuring out my image. This awesome image of a Dad or Grandpa was my go to for this challenge.

I consulted my husband on this and asked if purples and greens were acceptable to give to a man for a card. He agreed that it was acceptable ;) So the base, while it looks light blue is really a lavender color from the Paper Source. The next layer is SU! Always Artichoke edge distressed and the purple is from PTI also edge distressed.

I took the purple paper and smooshed my purple Colobox pigment ink all around it. I then covered it in thin embossing powder and heat set it. I don't know if it accurately depicts it in the photo but it kind of looks like leather. It's super cool!

I then tied some SU! double stitched ribbon around into a Buttony Bow (see my sidebar for Joanne B's tutorial). I then stitched it all together!
I then started working on my Fab Fisherman panel! I colored him in EVERYTHING BUT brown and blue! ;) And I LOVE how he turned out!!! I printed him on white cardstock and then matted him on a piece of grey cardstock. I straight stitched them together and then used my SU! photo corner punch to add a little extra to the front panel.

I then grabbed my SU! tab punch and some purple and orange train DP and made a super cute tab out of it! I added 2 cool silver rivets. Lastly I grabbed my SU! retired True Thyme ink pad and roughed up the edges a bit.

Inside I trimmed a piece of dark purple paper and added another slice of the orange train paper focusing on the word Dad. I love when the inside coordinates!!
I am LOVING how this came out!! How will yours turn out??? Let's see it!!!!

Thanks for visiting!!!

XOXO

Cutie Pie Spider!!!

Greetings!!

I have something totally fun and sparkly to show you today!! I've been LOVING my new Robyn's Fetish digi images!! I purchase them on her site, download them and then have the flexibility of printing them in whatever size I need!! I just open the image in something like MS Paint and resize! It's SO easy! I'm lucky to have a good printer that runs most cardstock through so that's helpful!!
I LOVE this adorable spider. Who ever said all spiders needed to be scary anyways? ;) Yesterday morning I was reading the funny pages from The Boston Sunday Globe...yes...I'm 36 and I *still* read the funny pages. I don't find them funny and I didn't as a child but the images are cute to look at.
This week's Fox Trot cartoon really caught me with it's colors. Super bright, funky and fun! I was so inspired that I went up to my studio with coffee in hand knowing exactly what I wanted to do with these funny pages and my new spidery image!! My fantabulous husband took over hanging with our two babes and let me create uninterrupted until I was done. Phew...he's so good.

I layered some of my FAVORITE SU! DP, stitched, heat embossed the web using my Versamark Pen and clear embossing powder, and then ran silver Stickles over it. I let it dry and then EVER so carefully using a self-healing cutting matte and my Exacto knife cut the insides out of the web to show the cool cartoon colors beneath.
I simply ADORE how this came out!!! The adorable spider was colored with my Copics and the 'sweet' sentiment is an SU! stamped with Brilliance Pigment Ink in Pearlescent Poppy and then heat set.
I hope you enjoyed my creation!!!

Happy Crafty Monday everyone!!!
xoxo
