Puttaparthi is a small viallge, one of the world's popular religious destination. This sleepy village was turned into vibrant and thriving by the Prophet Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This is the holy abode of this spiritual leader. The devotees of this Guru is almost in every continent. The land of this village is touched by people from around 98 countries. It will provide everything a metro-city can. This tiny stunnind edifice is located on the banks of river Chitarvathi, around 800 m above the sea level. The boundary is scorched by Wobby hills. The drastic transition of small remote hamleyt to a alluring modern town was took place in the year 1950, when Prashanthi Nilayam started by Sri Sathya Sai baba. The ashram complex is huge, having more than 1000 rooms, spacious assembly hall, a big meditation hall, library, museum, canteens, shops and much more. The sophisticated town has a marvelous infrastructure such as Railway station, super-specialty hospital, Airport and educational institutions. Puttaparthi visit is certainly a treasure trove for devotees and tourists.

Museum is the most visited part in ashram. It is perched on nearby hillock. It displays models of temples in India. Model of Golden temple, Amsitsar is eye-fetching feature. The life history of Prophet Sri Sathya Sai baba is described by lively paintings. Collections of religious books and vedic quotes are the other prominent features of this museum. 

It is a place of immense scenic beauty and considered holy. The prophet used to bathe here. It is lovingly called as 'New Gange' by devotees. It was the main source of sand for the entire construction of this town. The clothes of Sri Sathya Sai Baba were washed only by this river water. Aprt from religious significance, a nice place to chill out.

Sri Sathya Sai Space theater is spacious indeed, can accommodate more than 200 people. It uses Spitz Space systems-512 to stimulate night sky. It teaches public about the astronomy wonders. It is used as a classroom to practically teach the basic concepts of mathematics, physics and astronomy to students of Sri Sathya Sai educational institution. The first university in the country which employed planetarium as learning material. 

It is the main temple in ashram  Prasanthi Nilayam. It is a two-storey granite building ornately decorated. Inside the temple there is a huge marble idol of Sri Sathya Sai Baba on a silver throne and an empty golden throne dedicated to Prophet Sri Sathya Sai Baba. One can feel positive  vibration inside the meditation hall and can merge into deep silence. It is the main prayer hall used for Bhajans and congregations.

The Hanuman temple, kalpa-vrksha is a tamarind tree considered as wish-fulfilling tree, meditation tree, Ganesha temple are other popular places to visit in Puttaparthi.

Sri Sathya Sai domestic airport is located in Puttaparthi, 4 km from Prashanthi Nilayam. Banglore and chennai  international airports are also accessible, located at a distance of 108, 296km from Puttaparhi respectively. Bellary, Tirupathi domestic airports are situated respectively around 149 km and 204 km from Puttaparhi.

Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi nilayam railway station is the nearest one, located 8 km from ashram. Well connected with major Indian states and  cities.
