Kadapa

TOURIST PLACES IN KADAPA
Gandikota Fort: One of the ancient fort, believed to be built on 13th century, situated on the bank of river Penna. This fort is beautified with picturesque scenic nature and wonderful animal forest, making it one of the tourist attraction. There are many interesting things can be seen such as madhavaswamy temple, Juma Masjit, an impressive Pigeon Tower are adorned with sculptures and plastered decorations. It is located 77 km from Kadapa.
Vontimitta: It is one of the Mandal head quarters of Kadapa, located at the distance of 28 km. Sri Kondarama temple is popularly known as Vonimitta temple, famous for its art and architecture. Absence of Hanuman Idol made this as a unique temple of India. Vonimitta is beautifully surrounded by three lofty gopurams and houses spacious courtyard. The colossal size and rich architecture attracts the tourists from far and wide.
Brahmamgari Matham: It is the place where great preacher and futurologist Veerabrahmam attained Jeeva Samati. This Matham is built after his death on 1693 in Kandimallyapalli. Carved statues and beautiful painting of Veerabrahman made this place worth to visit. In and around this Matham, there are other worthy places like Siddaiah jeeva Samathi, Eswaramma temple and Poleramma temple. It is located 60 km from Kadapa.
Sangameshwara Temple: It is the most famous temple of kadapa district, built during 14th century, located at the confluence of three rivers namely Vahini, Papagani and Pavani. It is beautifully located on a serene valley which is surrounded by hills and forests assures calm and peaceful ambiance. The sheer scenic beauty leaves an indelible impression.
Tallapaka: This is small village, birth place of saint Annamacharya, the famous composer of devotional songs on Lord venkateshwara. He made invaluble contributions to music and literature during 15th century. Within the premises of Annamacharya temple, there are other temples such as Chennakesaswamy temple, Siddheswaraswamy temple and Hanuman temple made this religious significant and serene, locate 68 km from Kadapa.
Lankamalleswaram Wildlife Sanctuary: It is one of the reserved forest of Andra Pradesh, spread around 464 sq km and houses many endangered species of birds. It is a verdant paradise to tourists and captures heart of every beholder with its thick, dense trees, deep valleys and steep slopes and sizzling waterfalls. One can get to see abundant wildlife and water towers. It provides a fascinating spectacular views of Panther, Porcupine, sloth bear, Chitah and several other wild life species.
