AIChE, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, was founded in 1908, when chemical engineering was just beginning to establish itself as a fourth engineering discipline (after civil, mechanical, and electrical). AIChEJ is the abbreviation of its journal.

The Eyeish, also called A'-ish, Aiaichi, Aliche, Aliches, Aiche, Ayays, Hais, Ays, or Ahijitos, were a Native American tribe that lived in East Texas near Eyeish Creek, between the Neches and Sabine Rivers. They were part of the Caddo Confederacy of tribes when the Europeans arrived in the sixteenth century. Diseases carried to the New World by the Europeans decreased the tribe's numbers, and the Eyeish ultimately ceased to function as a separate tribe, but were thought to have blended into the Caddos and Wichitas. Although they were said to have two languages of their own, these have unfortunately been lost.
