Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired by a Song

For this week's Twinsie Tuesday, I actually just really wanted to try out some Essie nail strips I'd picked up for $1 at Dollar Tree (don't waste your money, they're crap, they're not even worth the $1) so I picked this song to serve as my inspiration!

$2 Manicure: Pink Polish with Snakeskin Wraps

Since I got on that $2 manicure kick using dollar store products, here's another one!

This time, I used a set of Essie nail wraps and a 3-in-1 polish from Sassy + Chic called Cotton Candy; both found at Dollar Tree.

OMG Nail Strips - Houndstooth and Black & White Splatter

I was recently contacted by a new-to-me brand, OMG Nail Strips, and asked to review their nail wraps.

Straight from the package, these seem pretty comparable to the many other brands of nail strips. They come 14 strips in a cardboard envelope, wrapped in plastic. Bonus: each strip has the size printed at the base. I haven't seen any other company do this before, and that info can come in handy. So we're off to a good start!

What's so special about them?  They are different from other nail wraps "because of their ability to stretch and have a unique resistance to chipping, tearing, and wrinkling" (info found on their website here).

I was also told when I was contacted that these wraps do not dry out. It's believable since they were sent in a plastic wrapper that wasn't air-tight, and I had no issues with them. That is really nice, too. I can't even tell you how disappointed I was to purchase a set of Sally Hansen Halloween wraps; used them one year, then wanted to throw on the leftovers as an accent nail for another mani the following year, and much to my surprise, they were brittle and worthless. So being able to use the OMG strips in the future whenever I want, and not having to worry about wasting money using half the product and being forced to toss the rest shortly after, is really appealing to me!

Double Appliqués - Incoco + Cover Girl

I picked up a Covergirl set that had Hunger Games nail strips and a polish. I wasn't sure at first how I wanted to wear the strips since the background of them are clear. Then I found a misplaced set of Incoco strips I had. Since they were kind of plain, and we all know how allergic I am to plain manis, I thought I'd see how the two appliqués looked together!

Salon Effects Ruffian

If you're like me, you easily get bored with the same ole, same ole. I wanted to wear a set of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Tweed-le Dee, but wanted to do something different with them. So I got into my untrieds box and randomly pulled out Milani Beach Front to wear along with them.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Tri-bal It On

Whenever I get into a nail art rut or am uninspired (or know I'll be busy and unable to paint my nails for a span of 3+ days), I always resort to nail strips like the Sally Hansen Salon Effects. They are super easy, quick, and don't require any tools or much work.

I found a few sets of these strips on clearance, and even though I'm not crazy about most of the patterns I got, they were a steal for $2.50 USD and I knew I'd eventually be able to use them.

Since starting my job, I have even less time to paint my nails, and often go Tuesday through Thursday with the same mani, which although is very strange for me, I have come to terms with.

Last weekend, I was in one of these nail art ruts and decided to just wear a set of Salon Effects for the week to get by. The set I went with is called Tri-bal It On.

Twinsie Tuesday - Space Inspired

Weeeeeeell I've been so distracted with family emergencies lately that I completely forgot it was Tuesday!

So instead of having spacey nails today, I was inspired by the universe and one element of the universe specifically - fire.

Incoco Nail Polish Appliqués - Review

I received some nail strips from Incoco to review and show you. They sent me three packs of strips, a booklet with all the different styles they have, instructions, and information about the strips, and two files and orange wood sticks.

Incoco strips are made of nail polish, so you have to use them soon after opening the package, or, as I discovered with some of my leftovers, they end up drying out within a couple of weeks.

The first set I tried is called Sweetie Pie, and retails for $8.99.
Bling Bling is a basic silver glitter for $7.99.
Fashion Fusion is also $8.99 and from their neon collection.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects

I decided to wait until the last minute to photograph these.

Partly because I am lazy, and partly because, when it comes to these strips, there is basically no noticable difference between Day 1 and Day 4.

In fact, I didn't even have much of a difference between Day 4 and Day 8. So you get all Day 4 pics! ^.^

Kiss Nail Strips

I've tried the Sally Hansen nails strips, and some awful ones from eBay, but I've always wanted to try some other brands.

My hubby brought me home some from Kiss, so I had to test them!
