Tf Chan, CNWL Chief Pharmacist and team members are pictured at St Charles Hospital on the first ward they began rolling out the electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) system - replacing the previous paper-based process. Tf reflects on where the Trust is at today: "Working with our lovely doctors and nurses we have now rolled out EPMA to 59 wards/clinical areas across seven boroughs. The EPMA team has also implemented Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) transferring FP10 scripts electronically to the community pharmacy in Addiction, Gambling, Club Drug Clinic, Virtual Ward, Children Development Centres and Urgent Community Response. This transforms the remote clinics and increases access to medicines for patients while reducing incidence of lost prescriptions. The EPMA team is collaborating with prescribers to optimise patient safety. These are just some examples of the patient safety decision support that we are developing in the EPMA to take away the errors caused by human factors." Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ehj6VwJh

Dr Con Kelly, CNWL Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dot Griffiths, Imperial College Programme Director and Tom Kibasi, Chair of CNWL met with the latest cohorts of The Management Fundamentals who presented their Quality Improvement Projects. The Programme which is run in conjunction with Imperial College Business School focuses on key challenges facing CNWL is aimed at senior clinicians (consultant/clinical staff). Dr Con Kelly, said: "Each year the commitment and engagement of participants increases as does the quality of the Qi projects we see presented by staff who all work in incredibly busy NHS settings. What is also great to see among the participants is the personal development, peer group support and the enjoyment of working as a team to deliver improvement. Qi is often said to bring “joy at work” – Dot and I certainly enjoyed our time with this year’s cohort for which we are very grateful." Congratulations all👏
