Toyeeb Lawal is part of our incredible team running The Big Half in just over a weeks time. As an employee of CNWL, he was inspired to sign up and support the CNWL NHS Health Charity and told us a bit more about his motivations for running: "I'm taking on the challenge of running the Big Half Marathon to push myself and to represent CNWL, where I work alongside an amazing team dedicated to delivering quality care every day. Convincing my bed-loving self to trade Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and the many other streaming services for running shoes was a marathon in itself! This run is a personal goal but it's also a mission to make a tangible difference in healthcare, right here in our community. The charity is committed to improving patient experiences, supporting staff well-being, and making a real difference in our community." Join us in wishing Toyeeb, and the rest of our team the best of luck!🤞 If you're feeling up for a challenge, have a look at our range of events: https://buff.ly/4dsOoyW

Ranita, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Admin Volunteer supported colleagues and joined in a ‘bring a dish’ lunch to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month event hosted by our CNWL BAME staff network. We met different people and found out more about what their role involves, we found out that while our heritage is different we have many similarities too. There are vegans, vegetarians, meat eaters, and so many food variation preferences and choices among us! Marathon runners, cyclists, festival goers, knitters, poetry writers, colleagues who live near and colleagues who came from Milton Keynes, and that’s just a snapshot. With all the rich diversity among us, there was one thing that everyone agreed – ‘Bring a Dish and Share’ should be repeated! “It’s an enjoyable way to take a short break out from the work day and to get to speak to our ‘office neighbours’ who we rarely get time to engage with. It was a lovely event.” said Linda Guerrero, from the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Service. "A huge thank you to Ranita for helping to promote, prepare and set up the lunchtime event. Having her support made the event possible.” Find out more about how the Trust marked South Asian Heritage Month: https://lnkd.in/ewDYg-wK #SouthAsianHeritageMonth #SAHM #EDI #Volunteer #BAMENetwork
