These visits are not just about addressing any issues but also about showing appreciation for their hard work. Last week, our Kindness Squad had the pleasure of visiting the Toa Payoh Central store, where we connected with Store Manager Mei Li and her fantastic team. The visit was truly touching, and one team member was moved to tears by the heartfelt appreciation expressed by our MD, Irene. We also explored our latest Jubilee Wellness Corner, a collaboration with Haleon, designed to support and enhance the shopping experience for young seniors. The positive response to our weekly Bone Mass Test and special senior discounts every Tuesday has been overwhelming! Our next stop was the Junction 8 store in Bishan, where we connected with Kai Feng and his team. We were delighted to meet an Elite Watsons member who shared her joy in shopping at this store. Thanks to her feedback, we are working with our landlord to improve the store’s temperature for a better shopping experience. We also met a brand promoter Jenny, over 70 years young, who impressed us with her enthusiasm and product knowledge. Lastly, we visited our newly relocated Ang Mo Kio Hub store, where we met Nurul and her team. The new location and layout have been met with great feedback, significantly enhancing the shopping experience for our customers. Additionally, we've introduced a pharmacy counter to offer expanded health and dispensary services to the community. We remain committed to further improvements based on the valuable feedback we’ve received. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to meet and support our store teams across these locations. During each visit, we shared simple snacks and treats to boost morale, and the positive feedback from our team members has been heartwarming. Intern Ye Qing from Nanyang Polytechnic has moved beyond traditional classroom learning, diving into hands-on experiences that enrich her professional journey. Actively involved in our creative processes and brainstorming sessions, she brings fresh perspectives to the team. Creating TikTok content is what Ye Qing enjoys most—a role that not only connects her with people but also pushes her out of her comfort zone. From planning content calendars to deciding on engaging themes and editing videos, her work both behind and in front of the camera, coupled with the camaraderie of the team, has made her internship experience unforgettable. 🎉 Celebrating Another Pre-Reg Graduate! 🎉 We are delighted to feature Chun Haw Ooi, who has successfully completed his training and is now transitioning to a full-time pharmacist at Watsons Singapore. Chun Haw completed his pharmacy education at the International Medical University, where his academic journey provided him with essential knowledge and hands-on experience. During his time as a pre-reg pharmacist at Watsons, Chun Haw benefited from the exceptional support and guidance of his preceptors, including Senior Principal Clinical Pharmacist Wing Lam, Senior Pharmacist Su yin Lim, Pharmacist Wee Teng Soh, and Pharmacist Teck Ian Chong. Special credits to Teck Ian, his main preceptor, who provided not only guidance at work but also significant mental support and advice on social life in Singapore. Their mentorship has been instrumental in enhancing his clinical skills and preparing him for various patient care scenarios. Chun Haw learned the importance of effective communication and meticulous attention to detail, which are critical in delivering high-quality patient care. An unforgettable experience during Chun Haw’s training was when he had the opportunity to assist a tourist in urgent need of heart medication but without a prescription. Despite this challenge, he swiftly arranged the customer to obtain an online prescription through telemedicine, enabling him to receive the necessary medication quickly. This experience not only reinforced Chun Haw’s passion for the profession but also highlighted the critical role of pharmacists in ensuring patient well-being. “One of my tips for maximising your pre-reg experience is to take initiative. Actively engage with systems and products, and participate in stocking inventory to familiarise yourself with both the system and available products. Most importantly, be proactive in approaching customers to gain valuable exposure and enhanced your learning," says Chun Haw Ooi, who has completed his training and is now transitioning to a full-time role.
