Pleased to have hosted Chief Pharmacist camilla wong and her team from the Ministry of Health (Singapore) Chief Pharmacist’s Office at the Guardian Singapore office today, together with our Managing Director, Mr Naresh Kalani. Very happy to have had a fruitful sharing session and open discussions on the National Pharmacy Strategy, PharmForce, HealthierSG and the future of community pharmacy and pharmacy services in Singapore. Last weekend, DFI Singapore hosted its first Family Day/Community Day since the pandemic, in collaboration with MINDSET and Care Community Services Society (CCSS) and supported by United Overseas Bank (UOB). Held at the Bird Paradise, we were honoured to welcome Senior Minister of State for Defence and Deputy Secretary General of the National Trades Union Congress, Mr Heng Chee How, along with 2,500 team members and their families and nearly 230 beneficiaries from MINDSET and CCSS. From inter-banner cheerleading and telematch competitions, the day was fun-filled with exciting activities, where participants displayed incredible spirit and enthusiasm. We are excited to announce a strong first-half underlying profit growth to US$76 million in 2024. It is a testament to all our team member’s hard work and commitment against the backdrop of the realignment of our business strategy and organisational structure.   Despite the challenging retail climate, our Hong Kong Food business continued to see market share gain with improving profitability. Across the Group, we saw good underlying growth in the Convenience segment and robust profit contribution from Health & Beauty. Challenging residential property market activity remains an overhang on the sales performance and profitability of our Home Furnishings segment.
