There was much to celebrate last night at New Zealand’s premier business awards, the Deloitte Top 200. thl was a finalist for Company of the Year and Grant Webster was recognised as CEO of the year. The crew at thl are so grateful for Grant’s leadership. His vision, endless energy, and strong values have seen us survive and thrive through the biggest disruption in the history of tourism. You’re a legend Grant and we’re all very proud! Grant couldn’t be there last night as he spends some well deserved time off with his family. Our Chair Cathy Quinn accepted the award on his behalf and the team took the chance to toast where we’ve been and the exciting growth ahead. #DeloitteTop200

Well done to the Caravan Industry Assocation of Australia, led by CEO Stuart Lamont, for building such a strong connection with Ministers, Senators and MPs in Parliament House, highlighting the value and economic contribution our industry makes to Australia. A particular thanks to Senator Helen Polley and Scott Buchholz MP co-chairs of Friends of Caravanning for their advocacy and passion for our industry. It was great to spend time with industry colleagues at this excellent showcase event.
Caravans descend on Canberra for the inaugural Friends of Caravanning activities. This was an event to highlight the tremendous contribution that the industry makes to the economy - nearly $28 billion of economic contribution annually, tens of thousands of manufacturing jobs, and over $11 billion worth of visitor economy expenditure (mostly in rural and regional Australia) from over 60 million nights in market - the caravan industry is so much more than just a highly loved recreational activity. Including product displays down Federation Avenue, and a simulated caravan park happy hour from great food (including oysters and lamb chops), through to a sing-a-long with Australian country royalty Adam Harvey, and great conversation, this was a great opportunity for our National Board and state association leaders to interact with MP's and Senators about how significant our industry is. Thank you to Senator Helen Polley and Scott Buchholz MP as co-chairs of Friends of Caravanning for all their hard work, as well as the many MP's and Senators who participated - Don Farrell, The Hon Catherine King, Carol Brown, The Hon. David Littleproud MP, Matthew O'Sullivan, Peter Whish-Wilson, Senator Bridget McKenzie, Darren Chester, Perin Davey, Susan McDonald, Terry Young, Helen Haines MP, Rob Mitchell, Richard Colbeck, Zoe McKenzie MP, to name just a few. The last few weeks have been great weeks for thl as we engaged with Indigenous Tourism events around the world. And in Canada, Antonia Nichol, Sustainability Director attended the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) annual International Indigenous Tourism Conference in Ottawa. And in Australia, Stacey Davis, COO Australia and Kate Meldrum, CPCO attended the first in-person meeting of the Tourism RING (Reconciliation Industry Network Group). Big thanks to Tourism Australia for hosting the event at their place in Sydney. It is wonderful our crew and our guests to be engaged in the continued growth of indigenous tourism.

🚐🥂Here's to new beginnings! 🥂🚐 Today, Tourism Holdings Limited (thl) is excited to announce that after a long search and process, a permanent location for the future Auckland thl branch has been secured after signing a new lease with the owner and will be investing significant amounts to re-develop this iconic site so it is fit for purpose. Our journey to this pivotal moment was a blend of intricate requirements, and while the pursuit wasn't without its challenges, we’re elated to share that our new base will be located at the Mangere site, presently housing Villa Maria’s Auckland Operations. Highlights about our new leased location: 🔸Our Auckland-based Group Support Services, Digital, and Kiwi Experience teams will be relocating from the CBD. This aligns our diverse operations for enhanced synergy and connection with our products, services, and guests. 🔸Ample space for RV and crew parking, transforming the site into an RV enthusiast's paradise. 🔸Expect an indoor showroom for the RV Super Centre, displaying brand-new motorhomes, an expansive retail store featuring the latest vehicle accessories, and a comprehensive service centre for tune-ups. 🔸Steeped in history and culture, the site is nestled within the significant Waitomokia crater in Mangere. The architecturally awarded buildings will be thoughtfully repurposed to resonate with thl's ethos. 🔸This move aligns seamlessly with our Future-Fit Foundation principles and our commitment to meeting challenging timelines. 🔸We believe this location offers an unparalleled opportunity to deliver an exceptional experience for our Crew, Guests, and Visitors. thl will begin re-development works from mid-2024 with operations to commence from December 2024 when the lease begins! 🥂🚐 #RVLife #NewBeginnings
