❓Do you know that the entitlement for Parent's Leave has changed today? ❓ From the 1st of August 2024 Parent's Leave has changed from 7 weeks to 9 weeks! 👶This means that any parent with a child aged under the age of two years old on the 1st of August 2024 are entitled to 2 extra weeks parent's leave. 📆 Employees much give 6 weeks notice before taking the parent's leave and they can take it in 1 week blocks or more. 👔Employers have the right to postpone the leave for up to 12 weeks, in the event that the taking of the leave would have a substantial adverse effect on the operation of their business. The employer must provide at least 4 weeks’ notice in writing of their decision to postpone the leave to the employee and both parties must agree to the new leave dates. 💶 Employers are not obligated to pay an employee who is availing of Parent’s Leave, they can apply to the Department of Social Protection for a Parent’s Benefit payment. Reflections: A week later..... This time last week I was in The Heritage with members of staff from AllPro Recruitment , Azmi Talent Solutions and O'Reilly Consulting Group for a day we called Unite And Thrive. It was a fabulous day full of discussion and great insights into business development strategies and techniques, leaving everyone energised and equipped with new tools to drive income and success for their businesses and themselves.
