Vikings Longship Attack playset - Serpent Conqueror - New Pics!

With Kenneth Branagh´s THOR movie, Chap Mei´s Vikings theme became more sought-after. Time for a deserved update on this great set!

Probably the best playset from Chap Mei to date. Certainly the most impressive. Outstanding detail, fun to play battle positions and last but certainly not least, the realistic row movement. Fantastic!

Vikings: Legend of the Norse Warriors longship!

Massive, imposing, lordly, grand, and towering playset showing a right amount of respect by CM designers for the true ships of the Norse people.

"Serpent Conqueror": Longship. A Drakkar, or Drekar, (Viking Longship). From all the vessels they built (long story short), a Knarr, built for long voyages. You can stare at this toy for hours. It actually seems to be a great diorama piece, or even display material. As you push the vessel, under wheels connected to the rows system, make this ship look realistically moving as the dragon´s head also moves and mouth opens.

Included accessories. Other than the 2-piece spear/trident, all accessories are part of the longship. The 2 lion head cannon balls, the cage for prisoning enemies, stairs, and even a grappling hook.

Figures: Monster Gunnar, King Harald and Oxhead Toki.

Figure: Oxhead Toki. This Thor-like figure packs the usual belt+weapon Vikings figures present. A very well made figure, but limited in articulation.

Detail shots. If you haven´t noticed the detail as a unique Chap Mei set, this will show enough to convince you. From the distinctive Viking symbol, the dragon head, to all the explendid high relief modeled forms, this is a MUST for any collector. Or Viking enthusiast for that matter.

Sail with beautiful warrior graphics and all the details you may want to see on such a toy.

"Playset area". The toy part of this ship. And a great one too! With a revolving lion head cannon, spring launches 2 projectiles towards incoming threats! A throne to carry the King, of course, and enough space to bring the whole team along. And hanging from the top, an enemy skeleton!

On top of the mast, the combat symbol, the Viking helmet!

Throne details. Rotates some 120ยบ. Notice the skulls and carved viking symbols.

Vikings Darkwater Sharkie Playset

A unique villain vessel  from the 2007 Chap Mei theme, Vikings: Legend of the Norse Warrior.

The infamous "North Sea Plunderer".

Included items.

 Included accessories.

A curious accessory. This "stick" is made out of a trident and a knife-edge weapon. The result is a magnificent spear. A little too big for 3 3/4" figures, but we have all seen much. much worse.

"Phantom Hammer": Hammerhead shark with saddle for a heroic viking.

Included figures with removable belt accessories.

Figure: "Wolf Ingmar".

Figure: "Monster Gunnar". Nice cape and great looking "devilish" head.

Vessel: "North Sea Plunderer".

Jaw opens and closes by moving the boat forward or backward. The head has a skin-like texture. Very cool.

Detail shots. Pirate looking, based on previous Pirates designs.

An original detail: Figure stands by the wheel plugged to the floor. Yup, occasionally Chap Mei includes foot pegs.

Vikings Tusker Raider Playset

Another "Legend of the Norse Warriors" playset, and a great one too.

Chap Mei original, "inspired" bootleg "artists" to do their own bootleg version.

Included items.

Included accessories.

Power Trumpet mammoth, the "Tusker Raider" is a SFX toy. Trumpet is activated by forcing its trunk down.

Nice looking prison cage.

Detail shots. The trident can be fired, the ladder relocated and the prison cage hung.

Medieval theme catapult. Now used for this "vikings" theme as well.

Figure: "King Harald". Good sculpt, great colors, but poor articulation. However, the extra shoulder articulation point is essential for the pose. Belt detail : dagger comes off.

Figure: "Longtooth Siguard". Another fine crafted figure, with the same limitations as the previous. Belt detail : claw comes off.

Status: Available MISB trade value : US$70

Vikings Darkwater Sharkie Playset - Battle Mammoth Bootleg

Answering a visitor´s request for bootleg review continuity, we present yet another proof of great "toy tracing"...

Apparently using the same "Darkwater Sharkie" box for every bootleg Vikings playset, this box has a big and considerably detailed set of parts.

 Included items.

Similar to Wild Arctic Mammoth Transporter Playset´s animal, this one has the head shield molded into the actual mammoth. The figure´s basket has a lot of room for 4 to 6 figures.

As one can observe, the detail is astonishingly good and the accessories are almost impossible to distinguish from the originals.

Sound FX activate by pushing the trumpet down, just like most of CM elephants and mammoths. The basket may eventually come off.

Figure: "Oxhead Toki". Another fine demonstration of modern bootlegging power...

Head, waist and arms articulation. And removable belt with an o-ring for the war club.

Very, very impressive.

This action shot may give you the perfect idea about this animal´s size.

Scale shots with Hasbro´s G.I.Joe figure.
