I hate Blogger!!! I don't know about any of you, but this new Blogger format is for the birds! I scheduled a blog post for today - I had the whole thing composed, I previewed it, saved it and scheduled the post for publication this morning. However, when I checked my blog this morning - the post was empty!!! ARRRGH! I had to do the entire post all over again...what a pain! Friday Fill-Ins

Here we go!

1. Spring is here!
2. I don't like strong coffee.
3. I forgot that it was going to rain today.
4. Tiramisu is delicious!
5. Heads, shoulders, knees and toes. (I know - not very original.)
6. Walking is my favorite form of exercise when it's warm enough out not to wear a coat!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to dinner with friends at an Irish Pub, tomorrow my plans include digging out daylilies and Sunday, I want to eat a leisurely breakfast and read the paper !

Photo Challenge - Day 10

This is the 10th Day of Natalea's July Photo Challenge. Today is "Orange & Pink Together." I found this pot next to the market full of all sorts of gorgeous colored flowers. I tried to zero in on just the orange and pink ones, but a few others peeped their heads into the photo!

Coloring the Garden

I couldn't sleep last night for some reason. Not sure why, but by 5:00 am after tossing and turning for hours, I thought enough was enough and decided I might as well get up and get started on my day. Since today is the first sunny day since I returned from the cottage (and the weatherman is predicting rain for both Saturday and Sunday) I went outside to plant my annuals in the front beds. DH always planted impatiens in one bed and geraniums in the other, so that's what I did too. Both of these flowers do very well in those areas, so I figured don't mess with success.

I think I will try to make it a habit to work in the garden each day as soon as I get up, while it is still cool and nice and quiet outside. Gotta run ~ my dryer is buzzing at me! Have a great day!

Atlanta Trip -Part 1

One of the sites I visited on my trip was the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The beauty of the flowers in bloom was truly glorious. My friend told me the week before I arrived the blooms were even better. I can't even imagine! Today I'll share the rose garden with you. Enjoy!

The Girls

Here's a collage I made a little while ago which was inspired by my mother and her two sisters. I remember my grandpa always saying he was so fortunate to have three beautiful girls. Most men want to have a son to carry on the family name. Come to think of it, years ago when we were expecting our only child, my husband told me he was secretly hoping we would have a girl. And lucky for us that's exactly what we had! {Vintage image from Lisa's Altered Art and some of the background papers are from Cathe Holden.}

Weekend Wrap-Up

I made some of these over the weekend. These are the white chocolate pretzels. I made milk chocolate ones too. I like both kinds. To me, chocolate is chocolate no matter what the color is.

I packaged them in these cellophane bags from Hobby Lobby.

Now this has nothing to do with Christmas, unless you use this as an ornament and come to think of it, it would be quite nice hanging on the tree I put in my studio. I found this plain white shabby-chic birdcage also at Hobby Lobby and I thought it might look cute all "frou-frou'd" up with tulle, ribbon and satin roses. So that is exactly what I did!

The birdcage goes quite nicely with my flea-market-find pink angel. . .

I guess I really should get back to work preparing for Christmas - I get so easily side-tracked!
