ILNP Sandy Baby

Today, I have one of ILNP's "jellie" polishes to share with you.

Sandy Baby
Sandy Baby is a subtle and sophisticated peach beige jelly that is extremely versatile, super holographic.

Collection: ILNP Spring Jellies Spring 2016

Color: This is a great my nails but better shade. It gives you a crisp clean look, but it has that added sparkle which I like! You know I've been into neutrals and nudes for awhile so I love this color.

Formula: The formula on this was good but sheer. I used 3 coats above and you can still see my nail peeking through in some spots. It doesn't bother me tremendously because it is such a nude color, but it's something to keep in mind.

Price: This is $10 on the ILNP website.

Overall: I really like this polish and it's one I have reached for more than once. It's a great clean or palette cleansing shade when you just want something to look fresh and nice on your nails. I really like this one!

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

ILNP Central Station

I love ILNP polishes and I think them and KBShimmer are probably my favorite indie brands. They're just so good at what they do in all aspects of their business. I also think I like them because they keep it fairly simple. They mainly just have seasonal collections, which is so much easier for me to keep up with! That being said, I do have a ILNP shade to show you I picked up this past fall.

Central Station
Central Station is an impressively delicate soft brown neutral shade with a subtle grey undertone that manages to radiate the perfect amount of warmth with holographic pigment and sparkle.

Collection: ILNP Fall Neutrals 2016

Color: I love this smoky brown shade. It's not too brown or too grey it's just right. It's hard to go wrong with neutral shades like this one. They're really flattering and chic. I love the addition of the holo in this as it elevates the shade, but it's still soft and doesn't go into Blingtown territory.

Formula: This had a smooth and easy to use formula. I used 3 coats above.

Price: This is $10.00 on the ILNP website.

Overall: This a nice and solid neutral polish. I love the color and the added sparkle. The formula was great and like everything ILNP I'm impressed and I think most people would appreciate this color.

Cirque Garnet

I've had Cirque polish on my "to try" list for years. It's probably the one brand that's been on there the longest that I never had ended up getting around to. I still haven't gotten around to it as I haven't purchased any myself.  I was gifted some recently during a Secret Santa gift exchange and I'm happy to finally have some! This was one of the colors I received.

Garnet
Garnet is an opulent burgundy with holographic flakes.

Collection: Cirque Facets Collection 2016 (Limited Edition)

Color: I love a rich red like Garnet. Red is one of my favorite colors in nail polish despite it being rather traditional. I love the depth and richness of this color and the bejeweled look it has with the holographic flakes.

Formula: This was a standout formula. I think most nail polish formulas I come across these days are good but just good. They do the job, not complaints. This formula stood out as exceptional. It had this almost gel-like formula. It was really opaque and applied so smoothly. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This can be purchased at Live Love Polish for $13.00.

Overall: This is a beautifully polish and beautifully made too. I love the jewel-toned of this color and the holo flakies. The formula was amazing and I'm really impressed with this brand so far.

Sinful Colors Sleigh Me

It's getting harder and harder to find seasonal nail polish in the drugstore. I know I say this often, but it's the truth and it stinks! I did find Sinful Colors Holiday 2016 collection recently and out of the several offerings, there was only one that stood out to me as something different. Whomp whomp whomp. This is getting old! I would like some cool drugstore stuff again, please.

Sleigh Me
Sleigh Me is a medium plum jelly base with purple-pink glass fleck glitter.

Collection: Sinful Colors Holiday 2016

Color: This is disappointing. I do like the color of this itself. It's a pretty red-toned purple shade, but that glass fleck glitter is just drowning in that base color. It's hard to see and it really needed to be amped up to make an impact. I do feel a lot of the issues with this polish are due to the formula.

Formula: Weird formula. It seems to me like the purple pigment and base are not well mixed. They glass fleck glitter either there isn't enough of it, or it's just not well blended either. Something is just funky in the formula where nothing is combined properly. It applied well enough, but it was sheer in some spots even after 3 coats.

Price: This was $1.99 at Walgreens.

Overall: This is a polish fail to me. This had all the elements of making a unique and interesting polish, but it isn't well made. The ingredients in this polish just don't mesh together well, and it's obvious. This seems like shotty work for Sinful Colors. Despite their affordable price they're certainly capable of a better quality product.

There will be three new scents (Gingerbread Men, Very Merry Cranberry, and Cocoa & Cookies) added for the holiday season. These scents will be available for a limited time in Mani Shots, Mega Shots, Sugar Scrubs, Picture Perfect Cuticle Creams, and Lotions.

Collection: KBShimmer Winter 2016

Colors: I think KBShimmer nailed it with this collection. I really like a traditional holiday collection and this collection really has awesome traditional holiday colors that are still fresh and relevant for this upcoming season. The colors in this collection are rich and saturated and the variety of finishes offered is always appreciated.

Formulas: I thought 7 of the 8 polishes I tried had a superb formula. The cremes were excellent and smooth. A Walk In The Park-A could easily be one coat, I just did two for the sake of photography. The glitters and shimmers also had great formulas. The only troublesome one of the bunch was Yeti Or Not which had a textured and chunky formula. It was not smooth to apply and I really wish it was created just as a normal nail polish because the color is beautiful and would have been my favorite otherwise.

Price: The polishes in this collection are $9.25 each and are available now on the KBShimmer website. KBShimmer will also be offering holidays promos with orders placed between 11/01-12/31 or while supplies lasts.

Promos
Spend $25 or more – receive a chrome nail polish charm with the KBShimmer logo ($2.95 retail value)

Spend $75 or more – receive a faux leather KBShimmer holographic cosmetic case ($12.95 retail value), nail file, and charm.  Plus free shipping!
**Purchase amount after any discounts or coupon codes

Overall: This is a wonderful holiday collection. I love the selection of colors and it's the perfect collection for those of you who love traditional holiday colors but have KBShimmer's magical touch. The formulas are great and I'm really excited bout the promos and new holiday scents. My favorite colors from this lot are Bling In The New Year, Chai-huahua, A Walk In The Park-A, and Spruce Things Up.

Sinful Colors Nice Guise

Sinful Colors notoriously has good Halloween and holiday collections. Sinful Colors is pretty much the only brand in the drugstore these days creating interesting nail polish even that is few and far between. I was happy to spot some cool colors in their recent Halloween collection. This one caught my eye.

Nice Guise
Nice Guise is a deep blue jelly with green, blue, and gold glass fleck glitters.

Collection: Sinful Colors Halloween 2016

Color: This is an impressive color for Sinful Colors! This color is rich, deep, but still vibrant. What I was worried about was that this color being dark would look black on the nails. Nope, this is definitely blue and that sparkle pops!

Formula: This had a great formula. It was easy to use and applied nicely. I used 2 coats here.

Price: This was $1.99 at Walgreens.

Overall: Great polish by Sinful Colors! The color is great and interesting. The formula is good and it's only $1.99!

ILNP Chleo

It seems like indies are starting to venture into the nude and neutral polish territory lately too. I was really excited when I saw ILNP was creating some fall neutrals as part of their fall collection. Indie really are not well known for colors like these, but I'm happy they're coming around to them because I have more options and better ones. We know indies tend to be more creative with colors than mainstream brands! I have the shade Chleo from the recent ILNP fall collection to share with you today.

Chleo
Chleo is a soft blush pink jelly that features a gorgeously delicate holographic sparkle.

Collection: ILNP Fall Neutrals Collection Fall 2016

Color: This is one of those "your nails but better shades". I love the softness of this shade and how it just enhances the look of my natural nails. The holo sparkle on this is just right. It provides the right amount of glimmer while still maintaining a clean and soft look.

Formula: Excellent jelly formula. I used 3 coats above. It was easy to apply and smooth.

Price: This is $10.00 on the ILNP website.

Overall: Chleo is a gorgeous shade and it definitely is satisfying my nude/neutral polish obsession right now. It's a very flattering shade and gives you the perfect clean and chic look to your nails. The sparkle is just right and the formula is on point.

DazzleGlaze Throne of Hades

I don't know how it's already October. I feel like we just celebrated New Year's only like 3 or 4 months ago. Not! It will be 2017 before we know it. October is definitely one of my favorite months. I think I enjoy Halloween more now than I did as a kid. I have so much fun decorating and I don't remember decorating for Halloween being a thing when I was younger. I decorating is certainly something that has come about more so in recent years. I have a Halloween-ish polish to share with you today from DazzleGlaze.

Throne of Hades
Throne of Hades is a black jelly base with metallic red and gold glitter throughout.

Collection: DazzleGlaze Greek Underworld Collection Fall 2014

Color: This is a great jelly glitter. It's hard to find black jelly glitters that work. Usually, I see glitters get drowned out by the dark base, but this is not the case with Throne of Hades. I love the mix of red and gold glitter in this, it gives this shade some vibrancy and bejeweled look.

Formula: The formula was a little bit on the thick side but manageable. I used 3 coats here.

Price: The 15ml size is $9.50 and a 7.5ml size is $6.00 on DazzleGlaze's site.

Overall: I really like this shade. It's perfect for the season and great take on a black jelly polish I really haven't seen done this well. I love the blend of colors and the richness of the glitters.

6Harts Butterfly Floufs

* I received the following in exchange for my honest review.

I have another polish I received during Cosmoprof this year. This is from a new to me brand called 6Harts. I was really excited to see this color because in the midst of bright neon and crazy holos of summer I was craving something soft. This type of color is definitely up my alley right now. Also that name Butterfly *Floufs*. I love floufs!

Butterfly Floufs
Butterfly Floufs is a lavender crelly with a light copper shimmer, microflakies and a small amount of a deep blue/purple goodness that is somewhat like a microflakie.

Color: This color is so perfectly soft and pretty. I love this shade of lavender as it's very flattering. You know I love that copper shimmer in this too. There is nothing better than pairing cool colors with warm shimmers. It's such a beautiful color combination.

Formula: I used 3 coats for this swatch. The formula was generally good. I did notice it to thicken up as I applied the 2nd and 3rd coats.

Price: This is $9.00 on 6Harts etsy page.

Overall: I really love Butterfly Floufs. I think it fits the name perfectly. It's a very soft and feminine color with a touch of whimsy with all the flakies and shimmer. The formula was fairly good. I wouldn't rank it up with my favorite formulas, but it was far from overly troublesome. Beautiful color and I'm happy to have it!

China Glaze Papa Don't Peach

I have another one of the jelly glitter polishes from China Glaze's Lite Brites collection to share with you today. I am big fan of this collection and I think it's one of the best collections China Glaze has released as of late. I was a big fan of the other jelly glitter We Got The Beet. Will this one steal my heart too?

Papa Don't Peach
Papa Don't Peach is a neon orange jelly packed with gold microglitter.

Collection: China Glaze Lite Brites Summer 2016

Color: This color caused my camera to flip out of a bit. I tried my best to color correct in my photo program, but I still couldn't get it 100%. This is more yellow-orange in real life. This colors is bright and I love the combination with the glitter. This is the perfect summer shade. It's juicy, glitter, and oh so bright!

Formula: Well, I didn't have issues with We Got The Beet's formula like others had mentioned with these jelly glitters, but I did have problems with this formula. This formula was a mess for me. It was thick, sticky, and goopy. This is a polish you really need to let dry completely between coats otherwise it gets too thick and goopy in spots and will never dry or level. Like We Got The Beet, this does dry flat so it needs a top coat, all the more reason to let it dry between coats unless you want a smudgy sticky nail polish mess.

Price: I paid around $4 for this one eBay. I recommend shopping this on e-tailers it is much cheaper than China Glaze's $7-$8 retail price.

Overall: I'm not a big orange fan, but I do love love this color. It's such a fun color that really pops. I'd wear it if the formula wasn't so bad. This formula was just a mess for me and it's so disappointing.

China Glaze We Got The Beet

China Glaze is a brand as of late that is very hit or miss. I either love a collection or absolutely hate it. I'd say their summer Lite Brites collection was a definite hit. I had a handful of polishes from this collection I picked up, but I was most intrigued by their microglitter jelly polishes. I have one of those to share with you today.

We Got The Beet
We Got The Beet is a grape purple jelly filled with golden/copper microglitters.

Collection: China Glaze Lite Brites Summer 2016

Color: I adore this color. It's the perfect summer purple that is bold and bright. I love the golden microglitter in this best. You know me I love my cool-toned colors paired with warm metallics. It's an amazing color combination that is very summery.

Formula: Here is what surprised me. I've heard a lot of people complain about the formula on this one. I personally did not have any issues with it whatsoever. I felt it applied nicely. This does dry down matte and textured, so I definitely think top coat is a must. I'm not sure if there were batch issues with this, I just had better luck with it, or I was expecting it to be bad and it wasn't that bad!  I used 2 coats above.

Price: I got this on eBay I think for around $4. I'd search for this one e-tailers. It's always more expensive at Ulta or Sally's.

Overall: I love this fun summer color. I love the jelly look plus the glitter. Yes, it's a definite throwback to jelly shoes. I hate those so much. I loved the look, but they always gave me blisters. Anyways! This polish rocks in my book.

Throwbacks Week: LA Splash Midnight Rain

Back before indie days fun glitter polishes were not easy to find. LA Splash was a brand that used to be carried at Ulta around 5-6 years ago and they used to sell fun glitter polishes. One of my favorites used to be Midnight Rain. I rediscovered it in my stash recently and that is what I have to show you today.

Midnight Rain
Midnight Rain is a navy jelly base with blue and red glitter.

Collection: N/A

Color: I love the combination of red and blue glitters. A bold red and bold blue are probably my favorite colors. The thing I don't like about this color is the sheerness, which I'll get into in the next section. The colors of though are awesome in here and I don't see many red and blue color combos like this often.

Formula: This is sheer. This is probably best layered, but I've been spoiled the past 4 years with awesome opaque glitter polishes from indies. This isn't how things were pre-indie. Layering glitters were expected. I used 4 coats here on its own and you still see patchy spots. The formula was a bit on the thick side too which is not ideal when you layering on 4 coats!

Price: N/A. I don't think you can find this one anymore.

Overall: I really do like this glitter, but I'll remember it needs to be layered in the future. I'd probably rate this so much higher if it were 2012, but it's 2016. No, this isn't an ideal polish now, but it's a nice throwback.
