In addition to an upcoming special, the ongoing series of The Powerpuff Girls jumps into its second phase with a brand new writer. Multiple Eisner Award-nominated scribe Kelly Thompson tackled the first trio of tantalizing tales for the series. She was joined by artists Paulina Ganucheau, Karen S. Darboe, and Miriana Puglia on each issue, respectively. Now for issue #4, Thompson hands off the baton to her own Powerpuff Girls collaborator, as Paulina Ganucheau takes on writing the next three issues.

Celebrate 20 Years of Cartoon Network
This October, the world’s first 24-hour, all-animation cable network will celebrate its first 20 years by hosting CARTOON NETWORK’S BIRTHDAY PARTY, an on-air and online birthday tribute created especially for kids and kids-at-heart who’ve grown up with the wildly fun and outrageous network since its launch in 1992. Launching on Oct. 1, 1992 within just two million U.S. homes, Cartoon Network has since grown to become the #1 television network among boys 6-11, and is currently seen in over 175 countries and in more than 360 million households worldwide.
Saluting both its vast library of classic animation as well as its current crop of top-rated hits, on October 1, Cartoon Network will launch its milestone birthday celebration by replacing its regular programming line-up with a full day of birthday-themed episodes from such beloved classics as The Looney Tunes, The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter’s Laboratory alongside more contemporary hit series including Adventure Time, Regular Show and The Amazing World of Gumball. The day-long event will also include a world television premiere of an original music video presented at 6:58 p.m. (ET/PT) as a tribute to Cartoon Network’s creative achievement over its first 20 years; and then viewers will be treated in prime time to the milestone 100th episode of Adventure Time (7:30 p.m.) and the much-anticipated Season 4 premiere of Regular Show (8 p.m.).

Super Best Friends Forever
If you get up early enough on Saturday Mornings, you are rewarded with DC NATION; WB's animation block for DC Comics featuring Green Lantern and Young Justice. Both shows are well made and written, but some days, it is the short cartoons in between that steal the spotlight. One such creation is a piece of animation starring Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl teaming up for adventure with a heaping side order of mischief in SUPER BEST FRIENDS FOREVER! The animation is crisp, the art style is fun and bursting with energy and the vocal work will make you fall in love in seconds...which is all you have, really, as these super shorts are...super..short. (Wokka) Check it out...
Mind blown?! It's like Powerpuff Girls with awesome DC Comics characters, right? If you loved this, do a quick google search for Plastic Man and Animal Man from DC Nation as well! Now..if we could get some of this genius to rub off on Marvel/ Disney who chose to overdub their classic cartoons in the most unfunny way possible as their interstitials...all would be right with the world!
