BATTLE!! Seems to be a reoccurring theme in most movie toy lines these days! Even if you aren't a big gamer, it should be obvious a movie called WARCRAFT is going to feature dudes in armor smacking each other around with giant medievely weapons. Based on the mega popular video game franchise (aka eater of lives), Warcraft does indeed feature dudes in armor, but also massive orcs with battle axes and such, so this cast is diverse! Here's a little movie background...
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders; Orc Warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

A Closer Look at the Creatures of Krampus
The holidays have come and gone and we are ready to greet a new year with half a bazillion geek movie epics ready to take center stage and even more insane horror films lining up for your entertainment dollars. One quiet, creepy, funny little film called KRAMPUS hit theaters this month and grabbed the hearts of a crowd I didn't suspect were looking forward to the film...FAMILIES!! Massive, excellent surprise to me that people took their kids to the (other) feel good movie of the year.
Back in October, Dread Central and Universal sent me off to Pittsburgh, PA to a place called Scarehouse. Inside, my group of East Coast journalists were greeted with all manner of creeps and ghouls around every maze like corner before spilling into an amazingly artistic area that would make Edward Gorey grin from ear to ear (which incorporated elements of Trick R Treat!) and finally capping with a journey into the lore of the KRAMPUS!! Included in this journey was one room which featured monsters, imagery and prop weapons straight from the film. Since our views of these things were fast, shadowy and fleeting, we thought you might want a closer look. Enjoy!

The Cinematic Universe of Godzilla, King Kong and Iconic Mega Monsters
Following Legendary’s and Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2014 success with the global reinvention of the Godzilla franchise, the companies have come together to create an epic, new shared cinematic franchise. All-powerful monsters become towering heroes for a new generation, revealing a mythology that brings together Godzilla and Legendary’s King Kong in an ecosystem of other giant super-species, both classic and new. Monarch, the human organization that uncovered Godzilla in the 2014 film, will expand their mission across multiple releases.

Godzilla 2014 Reviewed
Going into a film, especially one based on a preexisting property, I'm usually able to do 2 things.
1. Piece together a story line from the endless trailers, clips and still photos released by the studio. These puzzle pieces also enable me to imagine where the rest of the film will go. Often, this is setting myself up for failure as, at the heights of my ego, I enjoy my own version of the film better than what actually happens.
2. Putting aside the direction a trailer/clips/stills seeks to steer you in all together, I'm able to formulate what tone I am expecting from a property. This is more a gut reaction than anything else.
Godzilla was a film so shrouded in mystery, you could not possibly hope to work out a story line beyond "Monsters attack...we do our best to NOT DIE". That very basic assessment would prove to be more complete than I could have dreamed.

The Official Godzilla Teaser Trailer Arrives
Holeee damn. I can't help my excitement, even though the last time me and my father were this excited was when the previous American Godzilla film hit theaters. Suffice to say...we were not amused as the credits rolled. This time, though....THIS TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT! Legendary doesn't seem to like to make crappy movies. We'll say they are allergic to them. They also seem to love making magnificently epic films. We here are Idle Hands are hoping for epic in scope, ridiculously gargantuan in scale, mind blowing effects, nail biting destruction, a bit of human drama and a whole lot of superb writing. So..yea...our expectations are way low....and we'll ignore that the new poster depicts the military throwing paratroopers at Godzilla...cuz that's just silly.
