Screamfest Film Festival Announces First Wave Lineup

Screamfest Horror Film Festival, the largest and longest-running horror film festival in the United States, today announced its first-wave lineup of competitive features and shorts for its 24th edition. Running October 8 through 17, 2024 at the TCL Chinese Theater, Screamfest welcomes horror cinephiles to experience twisted tales and frightening films together on the big screen. Watch "The Mouse" Get Stabby in THE MOUSE TRAP Trailer

Into Frame Productions partners Jamie Bailey and Simon Phillips are pleased to announce several multi-region partnerships for The Mouse Trap. The film garnered huge press attention when its teaser trailer dropped on January 1st on Simon Phillips' personal YouTube account and has since been seen by millions worldwide. 

The film producers inked deals with Gravitas Ventures, An Anthem Sports & Entertainment Company, for the United States and Canada. The Horror feature "The Mouse Trap" will be released on VOD on August 6th, and DVD and Blu-Ray on August 13th 2024.

HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS Hits North American Screens

Hundreds of Beavers is excited to announce their North American theatrical rollout. The film, which was lensed in Wisconsin and Michigan over a period of four years, will begin screenings with a Great Lakes Roadshow. The cast and crew of the comedy cult hit of the 2023 festival circuit, are coming to cities around the Great Lakes to host rowdy screenings of their surreal slapstick winter comedy through January and February.

Each performance will include an intro, live performers, exclusive merchandise, and a Q&A with special and surprise guests. The screenings will kick off in Minneapolis, MN on January 26 at the Showplace Icon Theater and conclude in Toronto on February 10 at the Fox.

Following the Roadshow, Hundreds of Beavers will go on screening across the United States for runs in New York City (IFC Center beginning February 27), Los Angeles (Laemmle Glendale beginning March 15), Atlanta (Plaza Theater on February 9), Charlotte (The Independent Picture House beginning March 29) and more.

Ape Canyon: A Cryptozoological Dramedy

When your life is at an impasse, head to the woods and look for Bigfoot. Joshua Land's Ape Canyon follows Cal Piker, a commercial artist on the verge of an implosion. He won’t say why, but he needs to find Ape Canyon, and he needs his big sister Samantha to save him from the increasingly reckless things he will do to get there. Jackson Trent (Bad Witch) and Anna Fagan (I Like Me) headline the zoological cryptid dramedy as two siblings who join a motley crew on an expedition to find one of the hairiest myths. Indie Rights will release Ape Canyon April 16 on a number of digital and cable platforms.

Fantasia Film Festival Unveils EVERYTHING

With today’s final wave of programming, the 2019 edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival has now released its full lineup, featuring over 130 incredible features from across the globe. Lighthouse International Film Festival Announces 2018 Lineup

The Lighthouse International Film Festival (LIFF) has announced the complete lineup for its tenth annual event, which will take place June 7-10, 2018 on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. "Bellflower" Creators Craft Indie Film Homage to Side Scrolling Video Games

Coatwolf Productions released the first teaser for their new film Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins. The much-anticipated follow-up from the creators of the Sundance hit Bellflower is inspired by side-scrolling video games and 1980’s style action films.

The film is written and helmed by first time director, Jonathan Keevil and is the sophomore project from Coatwolf founder Evan Glodell who is producing the project and also playing the title character of Chuck Hank.  In addition to Glodell, the film also stars Keevil and Bellflower co-star Tyler Dawson who play the San Diego Twins.  Rounding out the cast is David Arquette (Scream), Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars), Michael Pare (Streets of Fire), Olivia Taylor Dudley (The Magicians) and legendary MMA fighters Don Frye and Josh Barnett.

The Girl With All The Gifts Finally Coming Stateside

The unsettling, surprisingly original zombie-esque thriller The Girl With All the Gifts premiered in the UK last September, with only a full length trailer to hold us over stateside until the blessed day we'd be showered with awesome indie horror goodness. And so we waited....and waited some more. NOW, with 2017 comes the moment we finally get to watch this creeper, both at home and on the big screen as the film hits DirecTV January 26th and select theaters and On Demand February 24th.

The near future: humanity has been all but destroyed by a fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh eating “hungries”. Only a small group of children seem immune to its effects. At an army base in rural England, this group of unique children are being studied and subjected to cruel experiments. New York Asian Film Festival 2016 Lineup!

Looking for KUNG FU MADNESS!!??!! I'm not talking your average Kung Fu madness...i'm talking the kind where a guy gets cut and bleeds for 3 hours as the credits roll at the end. THIS IS THE SORT OF THING I HAVE WITNESSED AT THE NEW YORK ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL!! Granted, the lineup is not always so blood soaked, with plenty of offerings to be seen involving drama, comedy, lust and female assassins with machine guns for arms...and sometimes butts. The thing to focus on here is that there is NO better place to watch amazing current Asian releases as well as a classic or two that may make your head explode. No promises....but I do see Stephen Chow's name down there...

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Subway Cinema announced today the complete lineup for the 15th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), which will take place from June 22 to July 5 at the Film Society and July 6 to 9 at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street). North America’s leading festival of popular Asian cinema will showcase 51 feature films, including one World Premiere, one International Premiere, 16 North American premieres, 2 U.S. Premieres, and 14 films making their New York City debuts. Featuring in-person appearances by more than 30 international filmmakers and celebrity guests from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

TURBO KID Collector's Edition Coming to Blu-ray/DVD January 25th

Epic Pictures announced today that they will release a special “Ultra Turbo Charged Collector’s Edition” Blu-Ray/DVD set of Turbo Kid on January 25th 2016. “‘Certified Fresh’” by Rotten Tomatoes, Turbo Kid premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival to strong critical acclaim and racked up multiple awards on the film festival circuit, including the Midnight Audience Award at 2015’s SXSW Film Festival, the Audience Award at the 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival, and the Best Feature Audience Award at Fantaspoa 2015.  The film was released in August 2015, by Epic Pictures Releasing, Epic Pictures Group’s U.S. distribution division.

Turbo Kid follows “The Kid,” (Munro Chambers) an orphan left to survive on his own through drought-ridden nuclear winter, traversing the Wasteland on his BMX, scavenging for scraps to trade for a scant supply of water in a 1997, ruined post-apocalyptic world. Project Greenlight Returns to HBO Sept 13 with Ben Affleck & Matt Damon

PROJECT GREENLIGHT, the documentary series chronicling the search for a first-time director and exploring the filmmaking process, returns to HBO for its eight-episode fourth season SUNDAY, SEPT. 13 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), with other new episodes debuting subsequent Sundays at the same time.

Executive producers of the new season include Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who were executive producers of the previous two seasons on HBO in 2001 and 2003, as well as Adaptive Studios’ Marc Joubert, TJ Barrack, Perrin Chiles and Marshall Lewy; Miramax’s Zanne Devine; and Magical Elves’ Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth and Alexander Lipsitz. Day 3 started early.... really.. really early. My mom was scheduled to come and get me at 9am so we could go walk around other cities and I could take photos. My brother was our driver for the day... fun was had by all. I will skip on the family time details as they are not part of the team here and may not wish to have their lives up for reading.

I started my second day in Montreal with a long walk down Sherbrooke, McGill, and Ste-Catherine Street, from my hotel to Atwater metro station, slowly going about my day and taking photos of random things as I tend to do when left to own devices in any city. This was once my city, but I never used to take many photos around town, so I intend on correcting this. My obsession with lighting fixtures continues! I have taken far too many photos of them and will keep on doing so until I have ALL of them.

I arrived in Montreal at an ungodly early hour, thanking my good luck for having a great friend willing to pick me up at a time I'd normally want to be seeing nothing but the insides of my eyelids.  I haven't been to my hometown in 2 years, so I need to do many things and see many people while I'm here, but first, I'll recharge my social batteries with a friend and have some excellent food.

After a lengthy visit, I took care of a few things and took a 2 minutes nap. Oops, I mean 3+ hours nap. This lead to a mad rush to get to the Hall theater to go see "Deathgasm", a heavy metal horror film from New Zealand. Due to my accidental extended nap, there was no time for diner, so a small popcorn and a water bottle would have to tide me over. Once seated at the very last minute, I was ready to take it all in.
